Farm Life - living in harmony

We were invited to Castle Hill Dog Show and Fun Day at Filleigh, where I have never seen so many dogs together in one place!

Our Lottie (pictured right) was a star on our stand, promoting my children’s books as she can be found hiding on every page. Families loved the link between the stories and being able to stroke a real live furry celebrity! Together we raised money and awareness for our chosen charity ‘Cots for Tots’.

The day also reminded me of the unique bond between owners and pets, and how valuable that has been over the past eighteen months. A dog is for life, whether working, sporting or companionship. They need constant love and attention, but also discipline. The latter is so important especially in the countryside where there is livestock. We hear too many horror stories, but with training of both owners and dogs we can live together in harmony.

November can be a frightening time for all our pets as fireworks light up the night sky. A little care and compassion is required, whilst remembering the attempted blowing up of Parliament.
