Molton Monthly signs up to Nature Recovery Declaration

With nature in serious decline across our area and climate change coming ever into focus, North Devon Biosphere has launched an ambitious recovery programme.

“If we are to turn the tide for nature’s recovery, everyone in northern Devon needs to engage through their choices and actions,” said Mike Moser, Chair of the Biosphere Nature Improvement Group.

“Today our wildlife is a shadow of its former glory and our natural systems are ceasing to function. It’s time for urgent and transformative local action.”

Molton Monthly has now signed the organisation’s Nature Recovery Declaration

Magazine publisher Pete Robinson said, “I believe it is the most important thing we can do in our lifetimes. The natural world urgently needs our help. Without a healthy environment, humanity might simply cease to exist. We must act now to tackle climate change and help heal nature.”

The aim is to help nature recover and expand natural areas in North Devon by 2030, aligning with the Government’s ‘25 Year Environment Plan’ and the Prime Minister’s pledge for 30% of land in the UK to be protected by that date.
