Other Activities Many of the participants also attended several cultural activities and entered contests during the La Semaine de la Francophonie in March as well as the French Art Festival in May and June.

At the French Art Festival

Twenty-two participants registered for French Level I which started on 1 October 2012 and is expected to finish on 27 March 2013. The participants were from the Public Service Department, Royal Malaysian Police, SMK Section 27, National Antidrug Agency, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, Royal Malaysian Customs, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Tourism, Department of Islamic Development, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Malaysian At Alliance française’s library National News Agency (BERNAMA) and Ministry of Home Affairs. Preparation for Delf Examination At the request of the participants who registered for the internationally recognised Delf A2 examination, special classes were scheduled on Wednesdays and Fridays from 2 May to 22 June 2012. The participants sat for the exam at Alliance Française in June 2012 and all of them passed. SPANISH LANGUAGE Spanish Level V This 80-hour course was conducted from 9 January to 17 December 2012, every Monday from 5.30 to 7.30 p.m. The course was designed to train participants to talk about what they would generally do in specific situations. The other aims of the course were to enable the participants to describe actions based on a situation and talk about actions that refer to events with continuing relevance to a past time. The participants were also exposed to the culinary art, songs and cultural events of different Spanish speaking countries through videos. 145
