CHCA, Moeller defenses dominant in wins ~-t~ By J.C. Trombley Community Press Contributor

A wrapup of week three of the high school football season:

Kings 17, Loveland 13 The Loveland Tigers were stopped four times on the Kings 6yard line with 42 seconds remaining. The Tigers began to awaken from an early 14-0 deficit as a long offensive drive was kept alive with a 45-yard reception by senior J. T. Maus from senior quarterback Chris Howland. The drive was culminated by a 15-yard touchdown run byseniorBillyWest. The Tigers' defense began the second quarter with two straight

sacks by senior Ben Bentz and a fourth down tipped pass by junior David Simms. This led to the Tigers second score as Maus took in a 34-yard touchdown pass from Howland, making the score 14-13. Kings added a field goal just before the half and led 17-13 going into the third quarter. The second half was a game of defense and field position as David Simms recorded his second interception of the night, Junior Justin Hawk's big hit forced a Kings turnover and senior Kyle Lohrman recorded a tackle for a loss. The game came down to Loveland's final drive. Starting with the ball on its own 20 with 4:30 left in the game Loveland began a long march down the field. Key plays

were turned in by Maus, Howland, West and senior Will Miller to keep the drive alive. The Tigers' final pass on fourth down fell incomplete as time expired leaving the team with a 12record. Loveland coach Jim Vanatsky pointed out the play ofMaus, junior Patrick Grant, and the defensive line as standing out in the game. -Dave Morrison contributed to the Loveland football wrapup.

Cincinnati Hills 48, Cincinnati Christian 14 Rotating CHCA quarterbacks Doug Browne and Adam Atallah led the offense with Browne passing for 96 yards and three touchdowns. Atallah added 149 yards and a touchdown pass while rushing for another score. The 14 points were the most allowed by the CHCA defense, led by senior linebacker Zach Lambert and junior defensive lineman Michael Chacksfield

Moeller 17, Toledo DeSales 0 Senior running back Martez ' Williams rushed for 200 yards and ' caught nine passes for 105 yards. Williams' three-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter was the Crusaders' only offensive score, the other coming off of a Brian ( Lane fumble recovery in the end zone. loveland@communitypress.com •
