SecondClass –Mr O’Dwyer

We had a remarkable year upstairs in Second Class this year! The girls were extremely fortunate to be part of Mrs. Byrne’s last month as a teacher before she retired at the beginning of October. A special word to say we all hope you are enjoying retirement Mrs. Byrne! We also had two welcome additions to our class, Arfi and Sumaiya, and the girls loved having them in our class.

I absolutely loved teaching this amazing group of girls. Each day began with smiles and laughter, but what impressed me the most was their dedication to completing their work. They are a really creative and innovative bunch who benefitted from active learning stations and engaging and entertaining Art and Science lessons. The sight of iPads rolling down the hallway always f illed us with excitement. Whether it was for projects, enjoyable quizzes, educational games, or even the occasional Minecraft session, we always had an absolute blast!

The girls were amazing in their preparation for their First Holy Communion. They learnedall their songs and prayers and even created some fantastic artwork, whichwe saw on display in the church. We also benefitted from the chance to have Ms. Brown teaching us for four weeks after Easter which helped with the run-in to our Communion. Our school tour to the National Stud was absolutely incredible! The entire day was filled with joy, sunshine, and laughter, leaving us with a group of tired yet immensely content girls by the end of the day.

Overall, I think we can all agree that we had an absolutely tremendous year and they are a class which I will thoroughly miss. Best of luck in Third Class girls!
