Living our Ethos

At Mercy Convent Primary School, we endeavour to provide a holistic Catholic education for each child, where respect and empathy for all, are central values. While upholding the Catholic ethos and Mercy spirit of the school, we promote inclusiveness and respect cultural and religious diversity.

In September as always, we celebrated Mercy Day and remembered Catherine McAuley. We celebrated Catholic Schools Week in our school in January 2023, with Ms. Buckley preparing a beautiful week for the children and staff. St. Brigid’s Day mass was celebrated by Fr Alex in the Church of Our Lady and St. David.

This year we were very lucky to have Seán , a native of Kerry, come in and work with our Communion and Confirmation pupils as part of his pastoral placement. Each week, the pupils looked forward to Seán’s visits to their classrooms and a fantastic connection was made. Valuable learning and instruc tion was experienced.
