NEW VILLAGE IS CONSTRUCTED

Asite in the Black Country will provide 472 new homes.

The development –being built byPersimmon Homes –will be known as Coseley New Village. It will sitonthe 65.1 acreformer brownfield site of Newey Business Park and the Bean Foundry on Birmingham New Road and Sedgley Road West.

Nick Wilkins, technical director at Persimmon Homes Central, said: “This is afabulous site which will bring much needed homes to the Tipton /Coseley area. Wewill be offering arange of homes to suit local needs.

“Within the design of our development, we have incorporated anetwork of new public open spaces that link to the adjoining canal, which will make it aniceplace for people to live.”

Of the 472 homes, therewill be

72 two-bed apartments, 144 twobed houses, 221three-bed houses and 35 four-bed houses.

Persimmon Homes has started sales for the new development from acabin on Sedgley Road West.

As part of the development, Persimmon Homes will also be pledging over £571,000 to the improvement of local education, highways and sports pitches in the local area.

During preparatory works, the site was visited by Councillor Patrick Harley,leader of Dudley Council who said: “This development will bring arange of homes for the local people of Dudley and will go some way towards addressing the housing shortage in our borough which is a priority for the council.”

The properties start at £140,000 for apartments.
