WELCOME
Welcome to the Fall 2024 Ring Celebration presented by the Texas State University Alumni Association! We are delighted to gather today with hundreds of Bobcats, family, and friends to mark this significant academic milestone with the receiving of the Official Texas State Ring. We are honored to have you join us today to commemorate this outstanding accomplishment. Thank you for being part of this special celebration.
UNBOXING OF RINGS
Join us as Texas State University President Kelly Damphousse leads the group in a collective unboxing of our cherished Texas State Rings. It’s a time filled with excitement, marking the beginning of a new chapter and the culmination of hard work and dedication. Together, we share in the joy of unboxing these symbols of achievement, unity, and Bobcat pride. Congratulations on this achievement!

ANNOUNCEMENT OF RECIPIENTS & RING DUNK

During the program, each student’s name will be called and they will have the honor of shaking hands with President Damphousse before participating in the official ring tradition of dipping their hand into the fountain of San Marcos River water, connecting with the spirit and tradition the river has carried through this campus for 125 years. Following this symbolic plunge, students will receive a keepsake microfiber ring polishing towel.
Please note: family and friends are invited to view the ongoing fountain procession from the seating area inside the arena and cheer when their student reaches the fountain. Waiting times will vary throughout the day. Students are encouraged to leave their belongings with their families when participating in the Ring Celebration.
HOW TO WEAR YOUR RING
BEFORE GRADUATION
Wear your ring facing in, so that when you look down at your hand you can read “Texas State University.”
AT GRADUATION
After your degree is conferred, turn your ring around so the words “Texas State University” now face out, displaying your pride to the world.
THE TEXAS STATE RING

The left side features our original campus building, Old Main, with inner tubes floating by on the beautiful San Marcos River.
The right side features the Bobcat athletic logo, designed in 2003 by student Brad Monk. Texas State adopted the Bobcat mascot in 1921.

The top of the ring features the Texas “lone star” set upon an oak-and-laurel wreath. Around the crown of the ring are the words “Texas State University” and the founding date of 1899.
The school flower, the gaillardia, is engraved inside the ring. The gold and maroon flower is the source of Texas State’s school colors.

HOW TO PURCHASE PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY
GradImages will take photographs of the ring recipients as they dip their hands in the fountain. Proofs and information on how to purchase these images will be sent out following the event.
SHARE YOUR ACHIEVEMENT
Once you receive your ring and dip it in the official fountain, you and your guests can share your story with our alumni and fellow students using the hashtag #TXSTRingCelebration.
CELEBRATE
AT SEWELL PARK
Celebrate with your friends and family by taking photos around the University Events Center and Sewell Park. After the program, opportunities for family photos will be available at Sewell Park until 5:00 p.m.

THANK YOU
We sincerely thank our Forever Bobcats, our Alumni Association Board of Directors, and the Student Alumni Council for their support of the Ring Celebration. This program would not be possible without the help of volunteers and supporters.
