RING PICK UP | Ongoing

Rings are picked up by reserved time slots. Students go to Entrance 111 to the ring tables on the gym floor. Pick up your ring by presenting a photo ID. Photo ID must match the name of the ring recipient. Congratulations! Try on your ring for size and errors. Visit the Balfour table for questions.

RING FOUNTAIN | Ongoing

After you receive your ring, proceed to the floor of the arena to participate in the official ring tradition: dipping your hand into the fountain of water from the San Marcos River to connect with the spirit and tradition the river has carried through this campus for more than 120 years.

COMMEMORATE | 3:30 - 4:45 p.m.

President Kelly Damphousse and Alumni Association President Tracy L. Parker ’92 will join the fun for a brief speaking program to commemorate this outstanding accomplishment. Other activities will pause for the program and resume immediately following. Light concessions are available throughout the event.

#TXSTRingCelebration Celebrate by taking photos around and outside (weather permitting) the University Events Center. Professional photos by GradImages will be available for students at the Ring Fountain and for the whole group at the “FAM CAM” in the Maroon & Gold room. Lines may form; please be patient! Information on how to purchase photos will be sent out following the event.

THE TEXAS STATE RING The left side features our original campus building, Old Main, with inner tubes floating by on the beautiful San Marcos River. The right side features the Bobcat athletic logo, designed in 2003 by student Brad Monk. Texas State adopted the Bobcat mascot in 1921. The top of the ring features the Texas “lone star” set upon an oak-and-laurel wreath. Around the crown of the ring are the words “Texas State University” and the founding date of 1899. The school flower, the gaillardia, is engraved inside the ring. The gold and maroon flower is the source of Texas State’s school colors.

HOW TO WEAR YOUR RING

Before graduation, wear your ring facing in, so that when you look down at your hand you can read “Texas State University.” At graduation, after your degree is conferred, turn your ring around so the words “Texas State University” now face out, displaying your pride to the world.

The Texas State Alumni Association is proud to sponsor the Ring Celebration. We look forward to being your lifelong connection to Texas State University. We sincerely thank our Forever Bobcats, our Alumni Association Board of Directors and the Student Alumni Council for their support of the Ring Celebration. This program would not be possible without the help of volunteers and supporters.
