DRIVING INNOVATION WITH FACULTY TXST IS RECRUITING TOP RESEARCH TALENT FROM ACROSS THE GLOBE Texas State University aims to attract globally renowned research faculty to bolster its competitive edge in higher education. Cutting-edge research not only enhances our reputation but also signifies innovation and creativity. It connects students to a broader learning experience and demonstrates to faculty that their work has a far-reaching impact. Additionally, it positions TXST in national conversations addressing local and global challenges, while showing alumni and supporters their contributions make a significant difference. In the past two decades, Texas State has made strategic investments in research infrastructure and faculty talent, resulting in increased funding from federal, state, and private sources. Now, to further propel our research enterprise, we plan to recruit eminent researchers in critical areas of demand for Texas, the U.S., and the world. These leading figures will elevate our status as a premier research institution and attract substantial funding, especially from federal channels.
By the time the Carnegie Commission classifies TXST as R1 in 2027, we intend to be graduating approximately 75 to 100 Ph.D. students every year, employing more than 100 post-doctoral researchers, and continuing to increase our research expenditures. R1 is a milestone, but once we achieve it, we must maintain it.
