Ryan Clymer-Sones ‘24 was named to the AllTournament Team in early December at the Mountain Madness Tip-off Tournament.

Softball Player Mia Jones ‘27, was accepted into the All-American Games in Maryland to be played in August 2023. She will be playing with, and competing against, other girls her age from around the country that were hand-picked by award or nomination.

On January 4, swimmer Woobie Kupsky ‘24 set two Hazleton Area pool records in the 200 free (1:43.06) and 500 free (4:38.99). As a result of his performance, he was selected The Citizens’ Voice Athlete of the Week.

On January 31, Mary Kate Kupsky ‘25 and Woobie Kupsky ‘25 competed as individuals for MMI and swam for time in Hazleton Area High School’s home meet against Holy Redeemer. Mary Kate set a pool record in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:00.43 and finished the 200 IM in 2:10.64. Woobie swam the 100 butterfly (51.46) and the 100 breaststroke (59.59).

MMI celebrated senior night with the Boys and Girls basketball teams and the cheerleading team in mid-February. MMI’s community also supported Coaches vs. Cancer in the month of February. Boys and Girls basketball games were dedicated to the cause and students were given a dress down day to show their support.
