5 Tips for Eating Healthy on a Budget

Do you want to eat healthy while sticking to your budget? At first glance, products labeled ‘organic’ may scare you into thinking that eating healthy is something you can’t afford. However, there are ways you can eat healthy AND stay within your budget. Read the tips below!

1|Plan your recipes. Planning your meals allows you to think of your food needs, tastes, and budget. Determining what you need to buy before heading to the grocery store can save money and time.

2|Buy frozen or canned. Frozen and canned options can be a healthy alternative for you and your wallet. Many frozen fruits and veggies have resealable packaging that allows you to use what you need and store the rest.

3|Cut your costs with coupons. Next time you plan your grocery list, look for coupons on your grocery store’s website first. If you cannot find a coupon for blueberries, for example, consider swapping the blueberries for a fruit that does have a coupon.

4|Buy store brands. When you buy generic or store brand items, you can save 20% to 30% on your food bill.

5|Shop online or through an app. When you order your groceries online or on your store’s app, you’ll be less tempted to make impulse purchases.
