Herzlich willkommen zur 6. Ausgabe des Bar Convent Berlin! Bis zu 6.000 Fachbesucher aus der ganzen Welt werden sich dieses Jahr in Berlin über Bar und Spirituosen weiterbilden. Unsere Fachmesse Bar Convent zählt damit zu den wichtigsten internationalen Branchen-Treffen und wurde vom britischen Magazin BarlifeUK entsprechend zur »derzeit besten Barshow der Welt« gekürt.

Welcome to the 6th edition of the Bar Convent Berlin! Up to 6000 trade visitors from all over the world are expected in Berlin this year to learn more about bars and spirits. Our trade show, Bar Convent, is thus amongst the most important international industry events with Barlife UK rating it »currently the best [bar] show in the world«.

In unseren jährlich durchgeführten Besucherumfragen wird das Netzwerken, das Knüpfen neuer Geschäftskontakte auf dem Convent, immer als einer der wichtigsten Besuchsgründe angegeben. Wir bieten daher unseren Ausstellern und Besuchern dieses Jahr erstmals eine App an, mit der man seine zwei Tage Bar Convent perfekt durchplanen kann (S. 8).

TASTE FORUM Im Taste Forum werden fokussierte und markenneutrale Spirituosenverkostungen angeboten. Alle Tastings werden blind durchgeführt. Neben den Tequila- und Mezcal-Experten Esteban Garibi und Ryan Fitzgerald werden dieses Jahr wieder der Rum-Botschafter Ian Burrell, sowie Dave Broom, Thomas Estes und Peter Eichhorn die Tastings leiten. Aufgrund der beengten Platzsituation im letzten Jahr haben wir das Taste Forum in den Distillers’ Circus (siehe auch Hallenplan; S. 34) verlegt. In our Taste Forum we offer focussed and brand-independent spirit tastings. All tastings are executed »blind«. This year we have invited Tequila- and Mezcal-experts Esteban Garibi and Ryan Fitzgerald, rum ambassador Ian Burrell, as well as Dave Broom, Thomas Estes and Peter Eichhorn to guide you through our tastings. Außerdem ist er Mitbegründer und Geschäftsführer der führenden Bar- und Spirituosen-Messe Bar Convent Berlin. Helmut Adam is co-founder and publisher of the German print and online trade publication Mixology Magazine. He is co-founder and CEO of Germany’s premier bar and spirits trade show Bar Convent Berlin. MARIAN BEKE Marian Beke arbeitet seit 8 Jahren als Bartender in London. Der Durchbruch gelang ihm mit seiner Arbeit im Montgomery Place. Danach folgten Stationen im Purl und der Artesian Bar, bevor er als Barmanager in der Bar Nightjar anheuerte. Marian Beke has been working in bars in London for the past 8 years. It was at Montgomery Place that his career really took off. Since then he has worked at famous Purl and Artesian Bar before moving to Nightjar as bar manager where he can be found ever since. DANIEL BIERNATOWSKI Ein Jung vom Lande. Hotelfachmann, Bartender, Handelsfachwirt, Barmeister, Barista, Geschäftsmann. Man könnte ihn auch als Tüftler beschreiben, wobei immer mindestens zwei Tüfteleien gleichzeitig in Arbeit sind. Daniel Biernatowski is a country kid and an experienced hotel manager, bartender, barista and sales rep. He enjoys working on new things, and always has two projects running at once. NILS BÖSE Seit den ersten Schritten hinter der Bar vor mehr als 17 Jahren, verfolgt Nils Boese die Mission Geschmack. Er betreibt in Hildesheim die Manhattan Bar mit einer Auswahl von über 650 Spirituosen. Since his first steps behind the bar more than 17 years ago Nils Boese follows the mission of good taste. He runs Manhattan Bar in Hildesheim with a selection of over 650 spirits. PATRICK BRIENEN Patrick studierte internationales Business mit dem Schwerpunk Marken-Management in Österreich und Australien. Bevor er die Orderbird AG mitgründete, kreierte Kommunikationskampagnen für Marken wie Red Bull und Adidias in München. Patrick studied International Business with focus on Brand Management in Austria and Australia. Before co-founding orderbird AG he designed communication campaigns for brands like Red Bull and Adidas in Munich.

To get to Ostbahnhof from airport Tegel please take the express bus TXL that gets you to Alexanderplatz. Here you’ll have to switch to one of the rapid-transit trains S5, S7, S75 or S9 and get off two stations later. If you arrive at airport Schönefeld just take S9, which departs directly from the airport and gets you straight to Ostbahnhof. Travel to Ostbahnhof with rapidtransit trains S3, S5, S7, S75 and S9 or with regional, national or longdistance trains of Deutsche Bahn. Approach to Ostbahnhof with busses 140, 347, 147, 240, 142. Taxi stands are located in front of Ostbahnhof. In front of the main entrance of Ostbahnhof you’ll find a roofless parking lot and basement garage. The parking lot offers 115 car spaces (fee: 1 € per hour) and the garage holds 250 spots (fee: 1 € per hour or 4 € a day). Both are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
