ARTBAT, um dos maiores nomes da cena da Música Eletrônica internacional, anunciou o lançamento de próprio label, UPPERGROUND. O primeiro single da gravadora que já foi anunciado e se chama ‘Flame’, tem lançamento agendado para 27 de Agosto de 2021, dia do lançamento oficial do label.

ARTBAT é o duo formado por Artur e Batish, dois amigos que saíram do underground de Kiev (Ucrânia) e se tornaram um dos artistas mais requisitados do circuito internacional. A dupla começou a levantar vôo em 2015 quando seu trabalho ‘Mandrake’, lançado pela Definition Music, chamou a atenção da cena e ganhou support de Richie Hawten.

Os últimos 4 anos tem sido incríveis para vocês, que foram de desconhecidos ao sucesso como #1 no Beatport. Como foi essa jornada e quais foram alguns dos destaques?

Em 2019, foram inclusos na lista Mixmag Stars of the Year, alcançaram o topo de vendas do Beatport com singles Number 1 e o Breakthrough Artist Of The Year do Ibiza DJ Awards. Entre os destaques da carreira dos caras es-

Para ser honesto, essa tem sido a jornada mais interessante e desafiadora que já vivemos.

Inicialmente, começamos a fazer música com o desejo de representar a Ucrânia no mundo da música eletrônica.

Foi um período muito difícil para o nosso país no final de 2014-2015.

Passamos a maior parte do tempo em estúdio, trabalhando em

músicas novas. Nosso primeiro lançamento, ‘Mandrake’, foi lançado em 31 de agosto de 2015 e recebeu apoio direto de artistas como Richie Hawtin, Maceo Plex e muitos outros.

Eles tocaram nossa faixa ao redor do mundo para grandes públicos.

A essa altura, era mais como um sonho que se tornou realidade e imediatamente sentimos que podemos contribuir de verdade para o mundo da dance music.

Faz com que nos sintamos vivos, inspirados e felizes.

Por que agora é o momento certo para começar uma própria gravadora? E, por favor, explique o nome dela para nós.

Existem dois fatores principais: Em primeiro lugar, já lançamos música em nossos dois selos favoritos: Diynamic e Afterlife. Era um grande desejo, um sonho, fazer parte de daquela comunidade.

Felizmente, não tivemos essa oportunidade apenas uma vez.

E a outra parte da resposta é que durante a pandemia nós tivemos tempo suficiente para trabalhar em novas músicas e pudemos mergulhar a cabeça no estúdio.

Pesquisando e trabalhando em novas ideias diariamente.

Agora sentimos que temos as faixas certas para serem apresentadas em nosso próprio selo. Especialmente após o lockdown mundial, queríamos voltar com algo novo, fresco.

Parece que agora é o momento certo para fazer isso - é hora de preencher a vida novamente com cores, emoções brilhantes e novos sentimentos. O nome do label é abrangente, inclui vários conceitos com os quais queremos associar as emoções e sentimentos que a música transporta - voo, sonho, energia, viagem musical sem tocar na terra. Também uma sugestão de uma mistura de elevação underground e espiritual.

Qual será a vibe da música?

A vibe da música será a mistura de techno, trance, vocais, às vezes elementos de house, focando em MIXMAG.COM.BR

sentimentos profundos, com explosões musicais brilhantes e impressões emocionais.

Queremos reunir uma comunidade com nosso selo, tanto de artistas já conhecidos e legais como, é claro, novos artistas talentosos.

Queremos que a música una amizade e atmosfera.

Como vivemos em um mundo visual agora, o formato, a arte e os vídeos farão parte dele ou será apenas música?

Sim, com certeza essa parte é importante hoje em dia. O mundo digital agora está começando a ser quase mais importante do que o mundo físico. Videos e conteúdo visual tornam-se mais importantes e são uma parte complementar do mundo da música. Tentaremos prestar atenção a isso.

Mas, de qualquer forma, acreditamos que a principal experiência emocional você terá ao ouvir a música, sentir e vivenciar dentro de você, os sentimentos internos são muito mais ricos do que as manifestações visuais externas. É por isso que a música sempre será o mais importante para nós.

Contem pra gente tudo sobre a primeira faixa da gravadora e o que mais andam preparando pela frente A primeira faixa do label é uma de nossas novas favoritas. É uma mistura de techno e trance, com movimentos interessantes incomuns e um colapso profundo. A faixa é sobre amor, sentimentos, e se chama «Flame».

O nome da faixa carrega o simbolismo do fogo que irrompe dentro de todos com sentimentos de amor, paixão, carregando o significado de experiências explosivas.

Para nós, a música e o amor estão muito próximos e, muitas vezes, os sentimentos que queremos transmitir na música estão muito próximos do amor.

No momento, estamos testando novas músicas em turnê. Faixas com um som profundamente emocional - uma mistura de techno e vários gêneros de house.

Como surgiu o Royksopp remix?

Como foi enfrentar uma pista tão grande? Vocês ficaram nervosos?

Em primeiro lugar, somos grandes fãs de Fever Ray e Röyksopp. Nós crescemos ouvindo essa música e é um som especial com vocais muito tocantes.

Tendo esse sentimento sobre a música dentro de nós, estamos sempre felizes em tentar contribuir com algo nosso para essa música também.

Não se trata de remixar uma faixa importante. Você está prestes a fazer algo mais de dentro para fora, para dar a esta música um toque novo fazê-la ser ouvida e dançada por uma nova geração de clubbers.

Nunca ficamos nervosos com isso, pois não é um desafio ou competição. Puramente emoções e sentimentos. Nossa contribuição para uma das faixas mais icônicas da dance music. Uma grande honra para nós.

Como foi voltar a fazer shows de verdade depois de tanto tempo longe? Qual foi a memória mais marcante?

Difícil explicar em palavras, mas é comparável ao êxtase e a uma sensação de bem-aventurança.

Tocamos em muitas novas cidades e eventos nesse retorno.

Em quase todos sets, sentimos arrepios. É uma sensação que você não pode comparar com mais nada. Compartilhar nossa música com um público emocional é outra coisa.

A música que vocês fazem e tocam, ou mesmo a atitude em relação à vida, mudou como resultado de ter passado mais tempo em casa, e menos tempo na estrada?

Enquanto ouvimos música, cada um de nós pode se encontrar em algum lugar muito distante em nossas experiências, sentimentos e sonhos. Não importa onde você está fisicamente neste momento, quando a música nos leva embora.

O que vem em seguida para vocês, no que andam trabalhando, o que vem por aí, o que não veem a hora de poder fazer?

Agora estamos em um próximo estágio: o lançamento de nossa gravadora bebê e obviamente estamos trabalhando muito em novas músicas, conceitos e ideias para o selo.

Quando falamos em algo novo e próximo - agora é nossa própria nova gravadora e tudo o que está relacionado a ela. Mal podemos esperar para compartilhar as novas músicas com o mundo.

ARTBAT, one of the biggest names of modern Electronic Music, has announced the launch of their very own label, UPPERGROUND. The label’s first single is called ‘Flame’. It’s scheduled to be released on August 27 (2021), day of the label’s official launch.

ARTBAT is the duo formed by Artur and Batish, two friends who left Kiev’s underground (Ukraine) to become one of the most requested artists in the international Dance Music circuit. Their rise to success began taking flight in 2015 when ‘Mandrake’, released on Definition Music, caught attention of the scene, receiving support from Richie Hawten himself.

Years later, in 2019, they were included in the Mixmag Stars of the Year list, reached the top of Beatport sales with number 1 singles and were named Breakthrough Artist Of The Year, by Ibiza DJ Awards. Other highlights

They played our track around the world in front of huge audiences.

By then it was more like a dream become true and we immediately felt that we could contribute to the world of dance music. It makes us feel alive, inspired and happy.

The last 4 years for you guys have been insane, from Unknowns to Beatport No1 sellers. How is that journey been and what have been some of the highlights?

Why is now the right time to start your own new label? And please explain the name of it to us.

To be honest, it’s the most interesting and challenging journey we had. We initially started to make new music together with the wish to represent Ukraine in the electronic music world. It was a really difficult period for our country at the end of 2014-2015.

on new ideas daily. Now we feel like having the right tracks to be presented on our own label.

Especially after a worldwide lockdown, we wanted to start and kick off with something fresh, new.

It feels like the right time to do so - it’s time to fill life again with colours, bright emotions and new feelings.

The name for the label is all-encompassing, it includes several concepts with which we want to associate emotions and feelings that music carries - flight, dream, energy, musical journey without touching the earth. Also a hint of a mix of underground and spiritual uplift.

What will be the music vibe?

And will you release anyone or just yourself?

The music vibe will be the mix of techno, trance, vocals, sometimes house elements, focusing on deep feelings, with bright musical bursts and emotional impressions.

We want to gather a community on our label, that consists of already known and cool artists and, of course, with new talented artists.

We want the music to unite friendship and atmosphere.

As we live in such a visual world now, will format, artwork, and videos be part of it, or will it just be music?

Yes, sure it’s important in these days. Digital world is now starting to be almost more important than the physical world. Videos and visual content become more important and is a complementary part of the music world. We will try to pay attention to this.

But anyway we believe that main emotional experience you will have by listening to music you feel and experience inside yourself, and inner feelings are much richer than external visual manifestations. That’s why music will be always the most important for us.

Tell us about the first track on the label and what other music you have coming up for it.

The first track of label is one of our new favourites. It’s a mixture of techno and trance, with unusual interesting moves and deep breakdown. The track is about love, feelings, it’s called «Flame».

The name of the track carries the symbolism of fire that flares up inside of everyone with feelings of love, passion, carrying the meaning of explosive experiences.

For us music and love are very close, and often the feelings that we want to convey in music are very close to love.

We are currently testing new music on tour. Tracks with a deep emotional sound - a mix of techno and various house genres.

How did the Royksopp remix come about? What was it like tackling such a huge track? Were you nervous?

First and foremost, we are big fans of Fever Ray and Röyksopp.

We grew up to this music and it’s a special sound with very touching vocals. Having this feelings about music inside us, we are always happy to try contribute something from us to this music also.

It’s not about remixing a huge track. It’s about to make something more from inside, to give this music a fresh touch and to be heard and danced to by a new generation of clubbers.

We were never nervous about it as it’s not a challenge or competition. Purely emotions and feelings.

What was it like to return to proper DJ gigs after so long away?

What was the standout memory?

Difficult to explain in words, but it is comparable to ecstasy and a

sense of bliss. We played in many new cities and events after the covid break.

Almost during all sets we felt goosebumps. It’s a feeling you can’t compare with anything else.

Sharing our music with a emotional audience is something else.

Has the music you make and play, or your attitude to life, changed at all as a result of more time at home, less time on the road?

While listening to music, each of us can find ourselves somewhere very far away in our experiences, feelings and dreams. It doesn’t matter where you are physically in this moment, when the music takes us away.

What’s next for you, what are you working on, what have you got coming up, what are you looking forward to?

Now we are at a next stage: the launch of our baby label and we are obviously working a lot on music, concepts and ideas for the label.

When talking about something new and next - now it’s our own new label and everything connected with it. We can’t wait to share all the music with the world.
