Action 4 Change: Civic Engagement

I am passionate about increasing civic engagement through voting, volunteering, activism, and education. I have witnessed the need for civic involvement throughout my life; from growing up in a small community, engaging in educational pursuits, and within my professional involvement in our nation’s capital. My goal is to encourage citizens to be involved and use correct and productive measures to influence the change they wish to see.

WHAT DOES SUCCESS MEAN TO YOU?

The Miss America Organization creates an all-around stepping stone for women to be successful. The MAO provides local leadership who act as empowering and uplifting mentors, opportunities to learn and achieve, and scholarship funds that will enhance the opportunity for a successful life. Success is defined differently for each individual, and the MAO supports and enables each young woman to achieve the success she desires.

WHAT DOES SERVICE MEAN TO YOU?

FOR the world, not the best IN the world. The Miss America Organization has taught me that being in the service of others is where I find fulfillment, joy, and success. I am forever indebted to the MAO for teaching me the importance of developing a servant’s heart at such a young age.
