Being a part of the Switchpoint homeless shelter has exceeded my expectations. Going into my Community Service Initiative, I knew what kind of service I wanted to achieve in my community. However, I was scared to get started. I will always say that fear is the key to any success. When you’re scared of something, the outcome can be that much more beautiful. Switchpoint is my family and I will love them forever.

WHAT DOES SERVICE MEAN TO YOU?

Service is so important to me. The service aspect of the Miss America organization makes me emotional. I believe that you can change the world through service. I think it is amazing that individuals all over the world use service as an outlet to help others. Volunteering, partnering with organizations, and putting yourself out there to make new connections is one of the most memorable parts of this organization. I hold service so dear to my heart, because it means the world to me. I love making an impact on others, and I love when others make an impact on me. That is what this organization is about.

WHAT DOES SUCCESS MEAN TO YOU?

In my personal opinion I believe that success is so much more than just getting your dream career or even achieving a goal. I truly believe that success lies within us as an individual. What I mean by this, is that success would be equal to happiness. In my future, I do want my dream career, I hope I can achieve all of my goals, but my main end goal is true happiness.
