My Grassroots organization is dedicated to building safe public and online spaces for LGBTQ youth. We also strive to bridge the gap between differing opinions with grace, by kindly educating and listening to other perspectives. By being an educational middle ground we not only benefit LGBTQ youth but bring understanding, tolerance, respect, and love to every community.

WHAT DOES SERVICE MEAN TO YOU?

Service allows me to meet members of our community directly. Sharing heart to heart conversations and teaching people with differing views how to communicate, respect, and love one another. Having the crown on my head has allowed me to meet other people that I otherwise never would have come in contact with. Learning to love the members of our diverse state has been one of my greatest privileges.

WHAT DOES SISTERHOOD MEAN TO YOU?

I’ve made 100+ new friends this year through the Miss America Organization. Each of these women have unique experiences, talents, and passions. When we join forces, magic happens. I have loved serving alongside my sash sisters and seeing the impact we have together on our local communities.
