THE MISS UTAH OPPORTUNITY

Miss Utah is the most visible representative of the Miss Utah Scholarship Organization (MUSO). Her job is one of purpose, as she spends her titleholder term as a public servant. She promotes the MUSO’s mission and vision and advances her own Community Service Initiative throughout the state of Utah. Fulfilling the responsibilities of the titleholder role should be her top priority for the entire year. Miss Utah is a motivational speaker and performer for audiences of all ages and backgrounds. She is a celebrity who understands the role she plays in society and the responsibilities that accompany this position of statewide influence.

SPECIFICALLY, MISS UTAH WILL:

• Serve as the state spokesperson for the MUSO and articulate its mission and vision to attract like-minded contestants, volunteers, donors, and supporters;

• Represent the MUSO at the Miss America Competition;

• Attend events, appearances, public speaking engagements, and service projects under the direction of the MUSO business manager;

• Perform her talent as requested at appearances;

• Strategize and execute a goal-driven campaign to advance her chosen community service initiative across the state of Utah;

• Research, prepare, and deliver public appearance presentations, performances, and speeches to audiences of all ages and backgrounds;

• Serve as a spokesperson and brand ambassador for the MUSO’s state partners and MAO’S national partners;

• Create content for media and social/digital outlets that promote her personal brand, community service initiative, MUSO brand, and state partners;

• Assist local directors in recruiting local contestants;

• Embody both the MUSO and MAO brands in her interpersonal, written, verbal, and digital communication;

• And act as a positive role model for young women across the state of Utah.

• Excellent public speaking and presentation skills;

• Understanding of client-facing hospitality and service;

• Strong discernment of and ability to interact with media;

• Understanding of social media and the ability to use it strategically and tactfully;

• Strong understanding of the MUSO program and ability to articulate the titleholder role;

• Strong networking skills and an ability to build partnerships;

• And a desire to advance a more diverse and inclusive program.

Spreading positivity has always been so important to me. I started on social media by posting encouraging quotes and simple ideas on how to spread kindness. While social media reaches many, I have loved going into local schools in my community and teaching about the science behind kindness and done service projects for people in my local community. “You make a living by what you get. You make a life by what you give.”

WHAT DOES SISTERHOOD MEAN TO YOU?

I have met some of my best friends because of Miss America. All the women in this program are strong, beautiful and inspiring. I am so grateful because I have friends that will be in my life forever.

WHAT DOES STYLE MEAN TO YOU?

How you are dressed is and extension of who you are. Style is the first thing people see and first impressions are so important and style prepares you for that.
