MESSAĠĠ MILL‑KOORDINATRIĊI TA’ MISSIO TFAL

Nancy Camilleri lill‑voluntiera u lill‑elfi kollha li ġew jgħinuna.

Għeżież Tfal,

Il‑Milied li għadda kien Milied speċjali ħafna, kemm għalija u anki għall‑impjegati ta’ Missio. Reġa’ kellna l‑attività ta’ ‘Santa in the City’. Kien nhar is‑17 ta’ Diċembru, meta Santa Klaws u l‑elfi tiegħu żaru l‑Belt Valletta fejn iltaqgħu flimkien mal‑Orkestra Nazzjonali ta’ Malta. Santa Klaws beda jqassam ir‑rigali lit‑tfal kollha li ltaqa’ magħhom għal donazzjoni żgħira b’risq proġetti tat‑tfal fil‑missjoni.

Minn qalbna ngħidu prosit lill‑orkestra, filwaqt li nirringrazzjaw lill‑ħafna nies li tawna s‑‘soft toys’ sabiex ikollna xi nqassmu bħala rigali, lin‑nies li għenuna nippakkjawhom,

Imma x‑xogħol ta’ Santa Klaws ma waqafx hemm. L‑għada, it‑18 ta’ Diċembru, aħna ta’ MissioTfal morna flimkien San Pawl il‑Baħar fejn hemm ukoll, Santa Klaws qassam ir‑rigali lil tant tfal li ltaqa’ magħhom. Matul din l‑attività kellna wkoll il‑bejgħ tal‑‘mince pies’, li tgħidx kemm kienu tajbin!

Ittra Mingħandkom l‑Istudenti

Tfal, illum tassew ninsab ferħan għaliex irċevejt ittra mingħand xi student i li jattendu l‑Iskola Sekondarja tal‑Verdala f’Bormla u xtaqt naqsamha magħkom.

“On Thursday 15th December 2022 students from St. Margaret College Secondary School Verdala, Cospicua were invited to participate in two radio programmes at Radju Marija station in Rabat, Malta. We were accompanied by our Religion senior teacher Martin Azzopardi sdc and LSE Mrs Karen Vella. The aim of this programme is to introduce the pastoral and religious activities in Maltese schools to the listeners of Radju Marija – a Catholic radio station in Malta.

Upon arriving in Radju Marija station, we were welcomed by the staff and taken around the building, then we assembled in the chapel for some time of prayer and silence. We were then taken to the recording room, and after explaining to us the function and operation of the radio station, we recorded two programmes which will be officially launched on the 6th and 13th February 2023 at 15:30hrs respectively. These programmes are part of a series of programmes produced by ‘MissioTfal’. During these programmes, students are also invited to participate and share their involvement in the pastoral or religious field.

Our teacher was invited to share his daily pastoral and religious operations at school and talk about his educational missions abroad. When asked to share a spiritual message, Mr Azzopardi said: “What counts in life is what God thinks about you and not what people say”. He also added, quoting William Shakespeare’s saying: “Cowards die many times before their death, only the brave die once; so in life be not afraid to say ‘This is morally good’ and ‘This is morally sinful’”. During these programmes, we were also invited to share a spiritual message for life.

Aidan shared a Latin phrase: “In te Domine speravi non confundar in aeternum” (“Lord, I have set my hope in thee; I shall not be destroyed forever”) and Sven also shared another Latin phrase: “Abyssus

Abyssum Invocat” (“One misstep leads to another”). Axl added a poem prayer that he learnt in the Religion lesson: “Wherever He may guide me, no want shall turn me back, my Shepherd is beside me and nothing can I lack”.

One of the producers wrote to Mr Azzopardi saying: “Tassew! Verament konna impressjonati ‑ bravi ħafna u grazzi lilek li wara kollox kont inti li ppreparajthom daqstant tajjeb.” (“Indeed! We were really impressed ‑ very well done and thanks to you that after all it was you who prepared them so well”).

We offer special thanks to Ms Claudia Cini and Ms Nancy Camilleri who both coordinated the radio programme, and to the administrative staff of Radju Marija Malta for this unique opportunity. This project aims to reach two of the main goals proposed by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: Life on Land and Quality Education.
