PEOPLE OF THE WORLD training for tiny welcomers
PEOPLE
OF
THE
WORLD
is
a
10-part
educational
experience for kids grades TK-4 exploring why people move around the world, how it feels to be new, and how we can help those who are new in our classrooms, playgrounds
and
communities.
Through
storytelling,
activities, and food, students get an immersive, honest, and
age-appropriate
understanding
of
immigration
and
how we can welcome resettling Angelenos. People of the World piloted at LAUSD school Eagle Rock Elementary in Spring 2019.
Each lesson focuses on a different element of migration, allowing students to contextualize and incorporate what they learn week-to-week. Sessions begin with a reading relevant to the lesson theme and end with a snack from a place in the world we discussed that week. Š 2020 Miry Whitehill. All Rights Reserved.
