Here we all belong

Here we all belong
Over 100 million people worldwide have been forced to flee their homes due to violence or persecution. Each year on June 20th, World Refugee Day honors those who are and have experienced migration and resettlement. Miry's List is a nonprofit organization supporting families who have recently resettled in America as refugees from countries including Syria, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Moldova and Ukraine.
One of the most important points for American people to understand about resettling refugees is this:
Though the refugee crisis is happening on a global scale, the resettling of families in our communities is a local issue. And it’s an issue that each of us has the opportunity to participate in and positively impact. We must move our focus from from the scale of the crisis and into the mindset of "how can I help the families resettling in my community?"
Miry's List is committed to providing support and assistance to refugees who have fled their homes due to conflict, persecution, and violence. As we look to the future, we envision a world where resettling refugees have access to the resources and support needed to rebuild their lives and thrive in their new communities.
Thank you for your participation in helping us to realize our vision.
Thank you for your friendship.
Let's note the courageous actions and heroic parenting exhibited by migrating people around the world. Let's follow their lead, be brave, and move into action. One step at a time, let's focus our energy on the many things we can change.
Miry Whitehill, Founder & Executive DirectorWe believe that intentional, individualized, and intense support provided to resettling refugee families in those difficult first 12-18 months leads to better outcomes for the community at large.
The work that Miry’s List does is an investment in families, in human beings, in new Americans. It’s about investing in them upon arrival because the need is so great and the impact is so real.
Miry's List made us feel we are in our hometown.
I pray for you and your colleagues. You are people who help us in this situation which we start over our new life. Thank you all.
You gave us a very humane and beautiful gift from the heart. My children and I are relieved, we are hopeful.”
Thank you for sticking by my side when my world started falling apart. You helped me keep it together and make it through.
