OPENING IN GUANGZHOU ON 9TH DECEMBER

A large center for the International leathergoods industry It was opened on 9th December in Guangzhou "Baizhuang International leather Exposition Center", the permanent exhibition hall for leathergoods manufacturers. The event took place during "China & Italy Leather International Event" and it was attended by an Italian delegation of Aimpes, leaded by President Giorgio Cannara, Chairman Mauro Muzzolon, stylist Roberto Ricci, General Manager of Bric's Roberto Briccola and by Foto Shoe Marketing Manager Carlo Alberto Molteni. The project has been explained by President Song together with Vice-president Fang and by the manager leader of the Chinese organization mister Li. The palace based in the hearth of Guangzhou covers an exhibition area of 60 thousand square metres and it is dedicated to around 600 leathergoods enterprises and to 200 commercial offices with exhibitions spaces going from 20 to 100 metres. The hundred leading Chines brands have already joined the project and they have chosen their space inside the International loca-

tion to promote their products both in the domestic and in the foreign market. The exhibition reserves space also for those International enterprises interested in selling in China (the organizers are carrying out a place for ten Italian leathergoods companies and they are working to start design courses and marketing meetings). Italian guests also attended China & Leather International Event. Giorgio Cannara spoke about the importance of Mipel, the rule of the fair for the companies and he stated what the exhibition means

for West markets; then he underlined how the fair cannot be renounced as a moment of primary exchange of view". "Mipel - Mister Cannara said - is not only a moment for the exhibition of leathergoods but also the one to compare each others" Mauro Muzzolon talked about European market and about its potential: "We are dealing with a mature market - Aimpes Chairman said - and we have to face it with aggression. It means that we have to propose really innovative fashion items in a good ratio between quality and price".
