PATIENT LIAISON GROUP (MINSTER) NEWSLETTER - JUNE/JULY 2010 Apology Firstly, apologies to our Minster residents who unfortunately did not have our newsletter printed in the June issue of Minster Matters. This was due to a "technical problem". Gremlins in the network I expect!! Monkton and Acol residents will be pleased to know that they were not affected.
Appointments/Missed Appointments It is appreciated that some patients are experiencing difficulties when trying to make or get appointments, which is something that the surgery is trying to address. However, we would like to draw to your attention that the number of "MISSED APPOINTMENTS" still remain unacceptably "HIGH", and continue to cause concern and inconvenience to Patients and The Practice alike. Each month, between 75 to 85 patients fail to attend appointments previously made. That's 3 - 4 PER DAY or 15 - 20 APPOINTMENTS PER WEEK that could be offered to others whose need could be more urgent. So please, PLEASE (AGAIN)! If you find that you no longer require an appointment or cannot attend, please let the surgery know and CANCEL IT! That way it could help others whose need may be more urgent, and perhaps one day that COULD BE YOU! THANK YOU. Hospital Transport Schemes Should patients require transport to/from local hospitals for appointments or treatment etc there are two schemes that are currently available and they are : 1. Voluntary Transport Scheme.....Contact 590935 2. Thanet Volunteer Service ........ .Contact 597115 Surgery Training Day Please note that the surgery will be closed on Tuesday 14th September from 12.00 pm Should you need to see a doctor during this time then please contact the "Doctors on call Service" via the normal surgery number which is 821333. Patient Group Meeting The date of July's meeting has not yet been decided. However, if anyone has any suggestions or issues they would like to be raised at our meetings please contact either of the numbers shown below or via the Practice Manager on 821333.
