From the President- Andy Steinhagen Greetings Minnesota Holstein Association Members. I am honored to write my first president’s update for you. As this is my first time doing this I will share a little bit of my background. My wife, Sue, and I live just south of Bongards with our two boys: Trystan, 18 and Will, 9. I work for Scott County in the highway department as my “day” job, and Sue works in the cities for a Andy Steinhagen financial service company. I also really do MHA Board President focus on my involvement in the dairy business by doing relief milking, helping friends with field work and working at sales. My passion going on “showcations” by working for friends at many shows throughout the Midwest and Canada.   As we are finally receiving real spring weather as I write this, I hope everyone has a safe and low stress planting season that they deserve after the long winter we’ve had. Our board and sale committee made the difficult decision to cancel the spring sale this year which probably was a real blessing as most of the state was busy digging out of the snow on

what would have been our spring sale date.   Having just returned from the Midwest Spring Show and having attended a couple of early sales, I’m reminded that dairy farmers are the most eternally optimistic people that I’m lucky to know. While our industry is faced with depressed prices, numbers at the show were still solid and the sales showed the value of great cattle is still better than what most people predicted. As we move through the year, please take advantage of the opportunities that we have to get together through our organization to socialize and have fellowship with others as I believe this is an industry built of people and the many great relationships we have with each other.   In closing, please feel free to reach out to me with any concerns or thoughts that relate to our wonderful organization, I hope that you will find me accessible and open to feedback to make it as great as it can be! Also, board meeting minutes are available upon request. We can mail or email you the board meeting minutes if you would like to see them. My email address is mnsteiny@yahoo.com and my cell phone number is 612-581-7523.   -Andy Steinhagen

The fees to participate in TriStar AMR are a $17 per month herd fee, plus $2 per completed 305-day lactation recorded that is loaded for Registered Holstein cows, which covers data collection and processing by ATA, and loading into the HAUSA herdbook system. TriStar AMR is not included in Holstein COMPLETE™, and at this time, AMR records are not eligible for recognition programs. Gerald Beneke ties for first in Holstein World All-American Popular Person’s Judging Contest

G

erald (Jerry) Beneke was one of eight individuals who tied for first place in the Holstein World 2018 All-American Popular Person’s Judging Contest. Beneke was the only Minnesotan to tie for the title this year.   “I got a call from Maxine Grasshof informing me that I had tied for first in the contest,” Beneke said. “I only missed the Reserve Winter Yearling Heifer and the Reserve Fall Heifer Calf on my placings. The rest of my Gerald Beneke is pictured above with the selections matched the officials.” Holstein World magazine which announced   Beneke’s father and uncle owned he tied for first place in the All-American Popular Person’s Judging Contest. He is also a dairy farm and raised Holsteins under the Beneke Farms prefix. holding his entry form in which he only missed two reserve champions. Unfortunately, on May 6th, 1969 a

tornado destroyed one of the barns and milking was discontinued when the barn wasn’t rebuilt. However, Beneke has remained closely involved with Registered Holsteins for his entire life. He is a lifetime member of the Minnesota Holstein Association and he has been a member of the National Holstein Association since the mid 1950’s. He started showing Holsteins in 1950, including the Minnesota State Fair, National Dairy Cattle Congress, International Holstein Show in Chicago and later in Madison, Wis.   “I have worked with a number of Holstein breeders showing their cattle,” Beneke said. “We had two All American’s in the same year. Jr & Sr. Yearling All American Bulls.”   Through working in sales and nutrition roles in the dairy industry, Beneke has had the opportunity to see a wide range of dairy farms across the country. In addition, he has visited dairy farms on the island of Hokkaido which is the northern-most island of Japan.   “I have remained involved in the dairy industry throughout my life and it has lent me the opportunity to meet many great people who love Registered Holstein cattle,” Beneke said.

New Board Member Spotlight: Karen Gorentz Family: Husband Jon, Children: Jaden (8), Kaylin (4), Kiersten (1)

Involvement with Holsteins:   A goal of mine was always to have registered cattle since I was little growing up on my family’s dairy farm in Barnum, Minn. My dad always told me “papers don’t milk”, but there was always the desire to get involved in the Registered Karen Gorentz Holsteins. I always admired Robert Slater’s (Yellowbirch) cattle while growing up and showing against them in Carlton County. Things fell into place when Jon and I purchased a few cattle from his uncles’ herd (Lida-View Holsteins) when they dispersed. After that, we contacted Adam Johnson to see how to get involved in the West Central Holstein Club, as both of us liked to show. After being elected to the West Central Holstein Board as Secretary/Treasurer, I helped to Co-Chair the All-Breeds Convention in Fargo, ND. The experience and involvement with Registered Holsteins have been a great investment and an exciting opportunity to grow our herd. Background on Your Operation:   Jon and I farm with Jon’s Family on his home farm in Dent, Minn. The family consists of Steve, Annette, Joel, Nathan, and Andrew, and his Aunt Karen. We employ one full time employee, and seasonally hire another full time and one part time employee. We milk 180 cows, our herd consists of Registered Jerseys, Registered Holsteins, and Grade Holsteins. We are currently in the process of registering all of our calves each year, so eventually we will have a 6

full herd of registered cattle.   We recently received our first quality award in 25 years, from Lakes Area Coop.We raise all of our own replacement heifers and have a finishing operation for our steers. The milk cows are housed on a bedding pack barn, with access to a dry lot and a little bit of pasture. We have a parallel swing 12 parlor. The cows are fed a TMR and we grow all of our own feeds to sustain the herd with the exception of soybean meal premix and distillers grains. Currently we crop around 1500 acres, which consists of Corn, Alfalfa, Soybeans, and Wheat. This also allows us to cash crop corn, soybeans, and wheat.   The neonatal calves are housed in calf-tel pens and hutches. The calves then move in different groups and housing based on size until they reach about a year of age, then they are moved into a big lot. The breeding age heifers and dry cows are housed together in a different lot. Our goal one day, is to simplify our heifer rearing facilities. Why did you run for the Minnesota Holstein Board?   Minnesota Holstein and West Central Holstein Association have given me many positive experiences and it is time to give back. I am the type of individual who gains fulfillment from helping others. My happiness comes from doing others good, no matter what circumstances I am in. A few individuals have taken a chance and given me opportunities with Holstein activities that further sparked my drive and passion for the Holstein Association. Getting to know other breeders in the industry, developing friendships, and furthering the bond over the Holstein cow is something that I look forward to as a board member. I feel that my talents, organizational skills, my can-do attitude, and my passion will help Minnesota Holstein propel into the future. I look forward to serving MN Holstein in my best capacity.

Holstein History: The Show Must Go On (and it did)

T

he 1976 Minnesota State Holstein Show was held in Arlington, Minn. The total number of animals was 374 head, making it the second biggest state show, just behind 1974’s 381 head.   The judge that day was Kent Mattson from Lapeer, Mich. Kent was well known in the Holstein industry. He had managed Lakefield Farm in Michigan in the 1950’s before going to Carnation Farms. In the 1960’s, Eugene L. Vesley started ELV Apache Ranch at Lapeer, Mich., and persuaded Kent to leave Carnation and return to his native state of Michigan. As a sidenote, one of ELV’s summer time employees was a young man from Minnesota named Ron Eustice.   Mr. Mattson had judged many shows before and always came across as very focused. Perhaps this is why he was maybe too focused or maybe the competition was so even and close. At any rate, the show went on, and on, and on. Morning classes become forenoon, forenoon became afternoon, afternoon became early evening. Lactating females were springing leaks, class winners couldn’t be milked until they competed for Sr. Champion. Aged cows were still waiting to be shown during the evening six o’clock news. The group classes followed.   For the record, Elginvue Farm was Premier Breeder and Exhibitor and by the time they took a picture with judge Mattson, the sun was setting. To this day, I don’t know if Mr. Mattson was paid by the hour.

By John Busacker

A Look Back 60 Years Ago

The Minnesota State show officially didn’t start until 1959, but in 1958 they did have All-Minnesota winners. There were no Best Three Females or Dairy Herd, no Junior or Senior champions but someone might be interested to know who had the All-Minnesota winners sixty years ago.   Henry Bartel of Hastings had three winners Sr. Get of Sire, Jr. Get of Sire, and Aged Bull. Hugo Albrecht, Lincoln Schroder, Raymond Olsen and Ray Perbix each had two. Mr. Albrecht had Aged Cow and Produce of Dam. Lincoln Schroder had FourYear Old and Three-Year Old Cow. Raymond Olson had TwoYear Old and Heifer Calf and Ray Perbix had Senior Yearling Heifer and Senior Yearling Bull. CANARY MISTRESS CAROL   The other class winners were HEIFER CALF OWNED BY RAYMOND OLSON Esmur Downs (Junior Yearling Heifer), Walter Beneke (Junior Yearling Bull) and Lyle Hohenstein and Harold Williams (Bull Calf.)

Andres is 3.37 PTAT and he is owned by International Protein Sires.   “We have been breeding and milking registered holsteins all of our dairy careers and take great pride in having animals that are type and production packages,” said Bob and Jeannette Sheehan. “We are active members in Minnesota Holstein being past presidents and committee members and like to participate in activities that are offered by the association. Through advertising in the publications we are able to market our animals to people all over the world. We thought Ariana would make a good candidate for this contest as she has provided our herd with genetics that meet our goals. We are proud to have Ariana chosen as the Brood Cow of the Year.”

However, Ashley isn’t one to take the easy route very often. She was also determined to become a veterinarian.   “I always knew I wanted to stay involved in the farm,” Ashley said, “but I knew I wanted to be able to utilize different skills that I was good at. Progressive Decisions Keep Door Open

Ashley is thankful for the decisions of the five generations before her that have allowed Forest-Lawn Holsteins to remain progressive. Thanks to these decisions, the door was open for Ashley and David to join the operation. Her great-great-great grandfather Swen Swenson bought the family’s first registered Holsteins back in 1885. In fact, because of Swen’s decision to purchase registered Holsteins that year, Forest-Lawn Holsteins has the status of the oldest continuously registered herd in the United States. Even when her great grandfather Maurice Swenson passed away unexpectedly at a young age, her grandfather Howard and his brother Owen kept the farm and registered herd going as teenagers.   “The decision to initially purchase Registered Holsteins back then helped add value to the herd,” Ashley said. “They were able to market the genetics and sell bulls to neighbors.”   More recently, Forest-Lawn Holsteins made the decision to put in four robotic milking units in 2013. Today, about 250 cows are milked by the robots. In addition, they retrofitted a calf barn and put in two automatic calf feeders. 8

advantage of the learning experience. She is thankful that her parents were open to answering any questions she had about the project. In addition, she was able to play a role in financing the project by applying for grants.   “Filling out the grants was very similar to filling out scholarships,” Ashley said. “I received the Livestock Investment Grant from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture.”   While in college, Ashley was also able to use some of an inheritance to begin buying into the farm.   “I decided ‘well I can either put it towards school loans or I can invest it and hopefully use it to eventually pay off school loans,’” Ashley said.   Today, Ashley works part-time on the operation and fills in where needed with anything from doing surgeries to calf chores or fieldwork and of course she does embryo transfer and IVF work. David works full-time on the dairy where his main role is managing the robot and the genetics program. Her father, Paul, handles the nutrition work and manages the young stock. Her mother, Cindy, is in charge of calf management, robot maintenance and the farm finances.

Decision to Go All In

Dr. David Duxbury of Midwest Embryo Transfer Service provided embryo transfer service to Forest Lawn Holsteins throughout Ashley’s childhood. In fact, Ashley can remember looking into his microscope at a young age.   However, it wasn’t until Ashley was in vet school that she realized specializing in Embryo Transfer could be a great fit for her.   “I realized pretty quickly that long term if I was going to stay active in the dairy industry, I needed to find something that I was good at that I could specialize in while staying in good physical health,” Ashley explained.   Luckily, Dr. Duxbury was more than willing to mentor Ashley. In addition, she took internships with Trans Ova Genetics and Sunshine Genetics to continue to hone her skills.   Through her conversations with Dr. Duxbury, they came to a mutual agreement that if Ashley was going to become a part of the business, she should “go all in” and purchase the business.   “Dr. Duxbury was very adamant that having ownership would be the best way to make me successful in the drive to want to gain the skill set,” Ashley explained. “We both decided that it was a good fit because from all of my job shadowing I had met a third of his clients before I graduated. We felt comfortable enough to move forward with it to kind of take a leap of faith.”   Despite the fact that purchasing Midwest Embryo Transfer Service from Dr. Duxbury seemed a natural fit, Ashley still took her time and did her research before taking this leap. She carefully reviewed the financial records, crunched the numbers, and sought advice from an accountant and her parents.   “I think the farm background and the learned business sense from my parents is what gave me the confidence and the understanding to be able to move forward to be a business owner in the veterinary side of things,” Ashley said.   Ashley graduated from vet school in May 2016 and signed the dotted line to purchase the business and begin her career with Midwest Embryo Transfer Service on June 1st of 2016.   Although she jumped into her career right after graduation, she put in many hours practicing and mastering her craft so she could be ready to start right away.   “There were a lot of cows on this farm that became guinea pigs and a lot of cows at my in-laws that they set up for practice for me. I went through a lot of the blood sweat and tears on the home farm before we decided to work on any clients animals,” Ashley explained. “Overall we tracked results here on the farm and then we continued to track my results to make sure that we didn’t see any discrepancies between Dr. Duxbury’s work and mine. We felt it important to maintain the quality control on our end and to track those results.”

When the animals entered in production futurity complete their first lactation, the 305-2x-ME milk records are verified by DHIA. Then the pound of milk, fat and protein are entered into a formula to calculate the dollar value. The formula is as follows: (# of Milk x .01) + (# of Fat x 1.15) + (# of Protein x 2.55) = $ Value This formula is the same one that the DHIA uses to calculate dollar value on the cow records. Laveau Brothers Strive to Breed Quality A lex and Romona Laveau raised 10 children on their dairy farm near Wrenshall, Minn., which is about 20 miles southwest of Duluth. Through the example they set and responsibilities they provided their children on the dairy farm all 10 children have gone Alex Laveau is pictured above with Boulder Range Cutie Pepper EX-91 who was the first Excellent cow in on to be self-employed. Carlton County and set a DHIA record in 1966.   Alex was passionate about breeding quality Holstein cattle. In fact, he owned the first Excellent cow in Carlton county: Boulder Range Cutie Pepper-EX-91. According to an article in the Barnum Herald on September 1, 1966, she set a Carlton County DHIA record with 23,890 pounds of milk and 970 pounds of butterfat on a 305-day record.   Today, two of his son’s Peter and Duane Laveau are continuing on with Alex’s passion for breeding Registered Holstein cattle. Each of the sons owns and operates his own dairy farm near Wrenshall, Minn.

Laveau Grandview Dairy

Duane is the fifth of the ten children in the Laveau family. He and his wife, Doreen, purchased the farm that they live on today in 1993 and called it Laveau Grandview Dairy because of the beautiful scenic view from the farm’s location on a hill. Today their herd is registered under the prefix DL-Grandview.   “I didn’t buy the farm for the view but we do enjoy it,” Duane said. “My mom told me that my father always wanted to buy this farm.”   Since purchasing the farm, they have built it up from scratch by replacing all of the buildings. Today, they milk about 55 cows in a 52-stall, tie-stall barn. They also have free stalls for dry cows and heifers.   Duane’s son Paul joined the farm after he graduated from high school in 2003. Paul’s wife Sheila is also involved with the operation on a day-to-day basis helping with the milking.   They farm about 250 acres surrounding the dairy farm including alfalfa, corn, soybeans, and oats. All of the crops raised are utilized to

feed the dairy herd.   Duane is a believer in the quality of registered Holstein cattle. To grow his registered herd and jump-start the quality of genetics, Duane purchased six animals from the Minnesota Holstein Association Spring Sale several years ago.   One of the animals he purchased, Rice River Income Cat, stood out as a cow who made a strong impact on his herd. Many of his best cows today go back to Cat.   “What I liked about Cat was her longevity,” Duane explained, “She wasn’t a huge cow but she was well-balanced and her daughters are cows that last.”   Overall, Duane aims to breed cattle that have quality feet and legs and are high in type. Aftershock is a sire he has had success using and has several Aftershock daughters within his herd. Other sires that he has had success with include Mogul, Supersire, and Silver.   “Paul is actually a better judge of cattle and he is involved in the breeding decisions as well,” Duane said. “Hopefully he will be able to breed some Excellent cattle in the future.”   As one of only a few dairy farms in their county, Duane and Doreen admit that they have had conversations about what they can do to help their business be successful for the next generation.   “We have talked about the possibility of bottling milk or making ice cream,” Doreen said. “With our location close to Duluth, we could have a market for it.”

Pictured above is the 52-stall tie-stall barn at Laveau Grandview Dairy.

Registered Holsteins   They have visited a number of on-farm creameries and bottling facilities. However, for now, they are only in the idea phase and thinking creatively. They aren’t at the point of moving forward with a project like this.   “We know that people will survive through the tough times in the industry,” Duane said. “But it is the people who have a niche that will survive.”   For now, they are happy with the life that breeding Registered Holsteins has provided their family. With five grandchildren, Duane and Doreen are glad that all of their grandchildren can visit and learn about the farm.   In addition, they take the responsibility of educating the public seriously. Last year, they hosted the Carlton County Breakfast on the Farm and they plan to host the event again this year on June 23rd.   “I wanted to be a farmer because it is a great place to raise a family,” Duane said. “I enjoy raising the crops and caring for the cattle. I am proud to have three generations involved with the farm every day.”

Laveau Dairy

Peter is the eighth out of the ten children. He and his wife Kim took over the home farm in 1991 when his father passed away. His mother remained involved with the farm for several years and she still visits from time to time.   On Mondays, Peter works off the farm at a meat processor in Wisconsin. They also typically have one to two employees who help on the farm. Peter and Kim’s daughter, Samantha, is involved with the farm on a day-to-day basis while also working a full-time job in Duluth. Peter and Kim also raised their son Timmy and his daughter Christina on the farm and they return to the farm and help from time to time. In addition, now Peter has three grandchildren who love visiting the farm as well. Today, the tie-stall barn has 104-stalls and they typically keep a full barn. Peter farms about 700 acres of crops including corn, soybeans, oats, and alfalfa. Most of the crops are used to feed the dairy herd; however, Peter is also able to market some of his hay for extra income to the dairy.   When Peter took over the herd, his father had stopped registering his cattle because of difficult times in the industry. Peter has worked to breed the herd back and about 60% of the cattle are 100% RHA. Peter

aims to breed large framed cattle that are high type.   A cow currently in the barn that Peter is proud of is Laveau Aftershock Pris-EX-92. She is the first 92-point cow that Peter has bred. Peter is excited to see how her offspring develop.   “It is one thing to buy an excellent cow, but it is another thing to breed an Excellent cow,” said Peter, “We are proud that Pris is our first home-bred 92-point cow.”   In addition to learning his passion for breeding quality registered cattle from his father, Peter was also inspired by Robert Slater. Four years ago he bought about 10 cows from Robert and one of those cows, Yellow-Birch Advent Maple, scored Excellent 91.   “I always wanted to purchase some of Robert’s cattle,” Peter said. “I admired his ability to mate cattle based on their pedigree. He bred cattle with a good frame, lots of body depth and overall good type.”   Laveau is a member of the Minnesota Holstein Association because of his passion for Registered Holsteins. He has also benefited from consigning animals in the state sales over the years. He has also been fortunate to purchase animals from the state sales that have improved the genetics in his herd. Peter noted that cattle he purchased from the Brodeens, near Cook, Minn., were great additions to his herd. He also enjoys the camaraderie at local board meetings and barn meetings as well as the opportunity to visit with members from across the state at the Minnesota All-Breeds convention.

T

he 2018 Minnesota Junior All-Breeds Convention took place March 23rd-25th at the Best Western in Mankato, Minn. This convention is held for juniors under the age of 21 who are passionate about the dairy community and the dairy cow. It was a great chance to meet new people throughout the state that share a common interest. Youth dairy enthusiasts from across the state of Minnesota gathered on Friday, March 23rd for the opening convention—themed as “Who Let the Cows Out?” After dinner, activities such as mixers and fun icebreakers were enjoyed by all, followed by the dairy knowledge bowl test.   Saturday, March 24th was a busy day filled with contests, tours, the annual awards banquet, and a dance. Juniors started the day by eating breakfast and competing in contests such as dairy jeopardy, dairy quiz bowl, and a prepared public speaking contest. This was a chance for members to present their knowledge of the dairy industry. The juniors then enjoyed a luncheon followed by a tour of Ruth Klossner’s Cow Collection Mooseum in Lafayette, Minn. Ruth is recognized in the 2015 Guinness World Record book for having over 17,800 cow pieces! Juniors also had the privilege of touring Forest-Lawn Holsteins owned and operated by Paul and Cindy Swenson of Nicollet, Minn. The juniors learned about embryo transfer, robotic milkers, automatic calf feeders, and had a chance to see some of the show animals on the farm. Forest-Lawn Holsteins is the oldest registered herd in the state and the oldest continuous registered herd in the country.   Later that evening, members dressed up for the annual awards banquet with keynote speaker Shannon Seifert—an Industry Relations Manager at Midwest Dairy. She encouraged members to “Live life like you left the gate open.” They also heard remarks on advocating for the dairy industry from the 64th Princess Kay of the Milky Way, Emily Annexstad. The juniors were recognized for their hard work with the presentation of awards to the winning production records, dairy jeopardy participants, dairy knowledge bowl teams, and prepared public speaking winners. McKenzie Swanson was presented with the Young Distinguished Junior Member (YDJM) award; both Haely Leiding and Kayla Leiding were presented with the Distinguished Junior Member (DJM) award. Jan and Jerry Albrecht presented the YDJM and DJM awards which they have sponsored for many years. The night was capped off with juniors busting out their best moves on the dance floor.   On Sunday, March 25th, the convention wrapped up with breakfast, the business meeting, election of new officers, door prizes, root beer floats, and county roll call. The 2018-2019 board was elected and is listed at left and in the picture on the next page. .   The 2017-2018 board would like to thank all the juniors that attended convention and hope they had a fun-filled experience. The 2018-2019 board is excited to work as representatives of MJHA for the upcoming year. This year, the 2018 Minnesota State Show will be held in Jordan, MN on June 19-23. All juniors are encouraged to register to network with members who share a passion for the dairy community!

Judging the Open Show Mark Rueth will be the judge of the 2018 Minnesota State Holstein Open Show. He is the owner of Rosedale Genetics, Oxford, Wis., where he is currently milking about 30 cows and housing some cattle. Mark and his wife, Nicky have a daughter, Paradise Rose Rueth. Mark is an experienced judge as he has judged both the Holsteins and the Jersey show at World Dairy Expo. In addition, he has judged cattle in 15 different countries.   Mark’s interest in dairy cattle began on the small grade holstein farm that he grew up on in Southern Wisconsin. He received his first registered calf when he was 12 years old. He went on to attend the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Through an internship with Morris Ltd., Mark was able to polish his clipping and fitting skills and build relationships with some of the most elite farms in the US.   Rueth was an owner of the famous Guernsey cow Tom VeeDee who went on to be his first of many World Dairy Expo Grand Champions. Mark also made history as the owner of Lavender Ruby Redrose-Red was the first Red & White to be named the World Dairy Expo Supreme Champion in 2005. In 2006, when Holstein Kinyon Linjet Ideal was named Reserve Supreme Champion, Mark become the only person to own or co-own four different Supreme or Reserve Supreme Champions at World Dairy Expo.   In March of 2017, Mark began to downsize and hosted the Rosedale Genetics “Sale of Excellence.” The first lot, Rosedale Catch a Glimpse was a Doorman from Lexington and she went on to be Junior Champion at World Dairy Expo. The top selling animal was Arolene Goldwyn Divine which was bought by Budjon Farms and was second in the World Dairy Expo Four-Year Old class. She was nominated for All-American for the second time. Rosedale Lucky Rose was also nominated as an All-American Aged Cow. Rosedale Ima Chatterbox was another animal sold on the sale. She earned Grand Champion of the Junior Show at the 2017 Wisconsin Red and White Holstein Show. She also earned second junior in the Red and White Senior Two-Year Old class at the 2017 World Dairy Expo.

THANK YOU!

MHA Corporate Sponsorship Program The Minnesota Holstein Association (MHA) was organized in 1910 for the purpose of improving and promoting the Holstein breed of dairy cattle. The MHA consists of 700 members and is open to all people interested in the dairy industry. The mission of the Minnesota Holstein Association is, "To enhance the lives and profitability of all dairy producers and enthusiasts by providing opportunities for education, marketing, recognition and socialization." As dedicated supporters of local registered Holstein dairy farmers, businesses have the opportunity to join and support the Minnesota Holstein Association through our Corporate Sponsor Program. This program has five levels of sponsorship: Grand Supreme Champion, Supreme Champion, Grand Champion and Honorable Mention. Each level includes recognition as a dedicated sponsor of the Minnesota Holstein Association. As a corporate sponsor for our association, businesses help the Minnesota Holstein Association provide opportunities for dairy producers across the state. If you and your business are interested in becoming a corporate sponsor or if you do business with a company you feel would benefit from becoming a corporate sponsor please visit the Minnesota Holstein website and print off a corporate sponsorship program agreement and flyer. Once completed the agreement and payment can be sent to the MHA office. A percentage of the sponsorship is given back to the local clubs along with their rebates in May. If you have questions or would like to know more about the program, please contact a MHA board member or the MHA office. Your assistance in helping our organization grow is greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!

LONGTIME CORPORATE SPONSORS A Special Thank You to our long time Corporate Sponsors. The following businesses have been MHA Corporate Sponsors since the program began in 2007. The Minnesota Holstein Association greatly appreciates your continued support.
