.............. Trucking Gets Boost by WIT Image Team
Within the Women In Trucking Association (WIT) community, there’s a group of professionals who know the mission of the association insideand-out, they are subject matter experts on trucking and how women can positively impact the industry, and they’re passionate about their careers. They are members of the Women In Trucking Image Team. And they have been busy. During the COVID pandemic, not only were they acting as heroes to keep goods rolling, but they made themselves available to handle the high volume of requests for interviews by media channels from all over the world. They also created two kiosk training sessions for WITney, the new Women In Trucking Ambassador Trailer which features a mobile education and recruiting unit. Myth Busters quizzes candidates to see if can differentiate facts vs fiction on trucking topics. Truck Driver DNA reveals if the candidate possesses certain habits/behaviors necessary to be a professional driver. And, they began development of an Auxiliary Image Team, which will be comprised of volunteers who will serve for a two-year term and mentor under Image Team members to learn the ropes, according to Debbie Sparks, WIT Vice President, who is leading the development of this new training program. “They will be media trained and help with media requests and ridealongs. Applications will be open during the Accelerate! Conference for female drivers who have been driving for a minimum of five years. Auxiliary Team members will be announced the first week of January 2022.” n
