DATU PIANG Mayor Victor T. Samama

RESIDENTS of Datu Piang, Maguindanao joined local officials in condemning the December 3 attack on that town by an armed group apparently claiming authority of righteousness. Mayor Victor Samama received officials and residents ostensibly overwhelmed by their expression of “sadness and strong condemnation over the unexpected atrocity perpetrated by some lawless elements.” Vice-Mayor Nasser Abpi who had been

reportedly at political odds with the local chief executive, personally delivered to the Office of Mayor Samama his own copy of the Sangguniang Bayan Resolution condemning the attack “in strongest terms.” Municipal Councilor Macmod Tuan sponsored the resolution adopted by the Sangguniang Bayan on December 6. The P14 million worth of investments will serve first in Lanao del Sur and Maguindanao. Wao in

Lanao del Sur will be its first project site. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, there was a notable dip in investments that could be registered in the autonomous region for this year. RBOI registered firms were struggling to survive the economic crisis brought about by the lockdowns instituted by the government to contain Covid 19.

Most RBOI registered investors are in agriculture allowing them to survive and continue operating. RBOI-BARMM chair Atty. Ishak Mastura said one major achievement of the RBOI this year was in pushing for the inclusion of investment operations under the newly passed Republic Act No. 11439 or the Islamic Banking Act of the Philippines, in the Investment Priorities

Cotabato City, a 3rd class independent component city, belongs to the Soccsksargen region. Almost two years after majority of its residents voted for the inclusion in the Bangsamoro region in a plebiscite, the city will be formally turnover on December 15. Guiani-Sayadi, a strong oppositor of the inclusion of the city to BARMM, said that if anything happens to her, her family, to the other officials of the city government, and to the whole city in the coming days, "you know now where to point your fingers." "We are not afraid of you. You can spend all your money in buying sim cards and sending us threatening messages but we
