Rommel Hitalia, Polomolok deputy police chief, said the police officers were office personnel and not on field duty. “The municipal health office personnel are still determining where

6ID camp under quarantine

THE Army’s 6th Infantry Division is imposing tighter health regulations in Camp Gonzalo Siongco following the demise of a soldier suspected of having contracted COVID-19. The headquarters of 6th ID is inside Camp Gonzalo Siongco, which is adjacent to the Cotabato Airport in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao. Lt. Col. Anhouvic Atilano, 6th ID spokesperson, said gate sentries require Army personnel and visitors to register first in a reception booth near the gate before letting them in. “We ask visitors to bear with

us please. We are just following government anti-COVID-19 protocols,” Atilano said. A private in the 7th Infantry Battalion, who had signs of coronavirus infection, reportedly died at the Camp Gonzalo Siongco Hospital. 6th ID officials, however, have neither denied nor confirmed the report. “We’re not imposing an absolute lockdown in the camp actually. We are just implementing very stringent health regulations to ensure the safety of our personnel and visitors coming in,” Atilano said. John Felix Unson
