There Is Something About That Name
He was a wood-worker living in a small town in the Middle East under the Roman Empire. His public career was confined to the last few years of His short life and was apparently unsuccessful. He went about healing and helping, teaching and preaching. In His love for men He literally gave Himself away in the service of others. At the same time He experienced hunger, homelessness and tiredness. He knew what sorrow was like in the death of His friends and loneliness when deserted by others. Living in an occupied country in an age of cruelty, He faced strong opposition; yet He would not waver or evade the final issue. He enjoyed the company of others and befriended the outcasts, the unwanted, and the social misfits. In His care and concern for these He knew no limits. Strong in character and will, He was yet gentle to the weak and helpless. But wherever He found evil or hypocrisy He fearlessly condemned it. Then, because of His love for ordinary men and women - He died for them...but that was not the end - He rose again and lives today! There has to be something about that name - that name JESUS!
