MEEP honors mentors and supporters

Milwaukee Exposure and Explorer Project held its 4th Annual Luncheon on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel in Brown Deer. Mentors and supporters were honored for tutoring and mentoring students at Bryant Elementary School and Carson School of Math and Science. The MEEP was started by three retired educators who wanted to expose children to various careers and professional people. MEEP founder Lilly Simmons shared her dream with her pastor, Rev. Martin Childs of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church and was encouraged to start the program. Rev. Childs along with her wife, Theresa were recognized for their contributions. Mrs. Carla Allison, owner of the Reader’s Choice bookstore was acknowledged for introducing African American books and authors to children.

Pastors United training program for Milwaukee By: Raina J. Johnson Special to The Milwaukee Times Earlier this month, the grassroots organization Pastors United held sign-ups and interest forums for a job training program they wish to sponsor in order to bring jobs to Milwaukee’s residents and in areas of high unemployment. The group began with surveying the public in regards to what they feel are the most pertinent issues facing the African American community in Milwaukee, and the high unemployment numbers were at the top of the list. At the sign-ups, over 500 people responded with their interest in a job training program. Appointed chairperson of the Economic Development Committee, Ezzard White is a master electrician by trade and owner for over 30 years of EWS Electric Industrial Trucking and Traffic Control. In 2009, White began working on The Ohms Project, an opportunity to give men and women better-

than-average skilled trades training. White has also been a teacher in Milwaukee Public Schools. “There is a dire need to connect with the community; we are trying to reach men and women in order to get them gainful employment to support their families,” White said. He desires to partner with Milwaukee Public Schools and the Wisconsin Regional Training Partnership (WRTP)/Big Step. “In this city we need to work collectively to employ these young people, many who are products of the Milwaukee Public School system, “ he added. The next steps in the process for Pastors United economic development committee is to secure the site where the training will take place and to secure the finances for the programs. White said he is confident this will happen soon. “With all the development happening in the city, I’d hate to see men and women left out of opportunity due to lack of skills,” he concluded.

Pastors United, is a faith-based community organization founded in March 2013 and comprised of pastors, ministers, business men and women who meet every Thursday to discuss and offer solutions to the myriad of problems plaguing the city’s African American community. Issues such as crime and incarceration, education, business and economic development, and the Affordable Care Act are a few of the issues discussed in recent weeks. At last week’s Pastors United meeting, Mr. Ezzard White, chairman of Pastors United Economic Development Committee, made an excellent presentation regarding the OHMS Job Training program, which 800 individuals have completed applications to participate in. The OHMS Jobs Training is expected to begin in the very near future.

The Founder of Sisters The Milwaukee Common Council on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, gave its final blessing to a plan by Alderman Joe Davis, Sr. to redirect $1,000,000 in federal Community Development Block Grant funding from City of Milwaukee agencies directly to community organizations, initiatives and groups that support them. Alderman Davis, the chair of the council’s Community and Economic Development Committee, said the reallocation is crucial to supporting programs that address the root causes of crime and violence in the city. “This isn’t a problem that is confined to any one neighborhood,” Alderman Davis said. “This is a Milwaukee problem, and only by addressing the city’s economic and educational disparities can we begin to treat this systemic crime and violence.” On a 6-9 vote, the Common Council on Wednesday rejected reconsideration of a July 23 vote in favor of Alderman Davis’s plan. Prior to Davis’s amendment in the Community and Economic Development Committee, the Community Development Grants Administration called for allocating $6.4 million of the $14 million in 2014 federal CDBG funds to city services. The amendment diverts $1,000,000 of that allocation to support community-based organizations, including $500,000 to the Milwaukee Promise/Black Male Achievement initiative, an additional $235,000 to Neighborhood

Dispute over city's minority hiring for Westlawn project continues The federal complaint by the Milwaukee Inner-city Congregations Allied for Hope against Milwaukee's Housing Authority (MICAH) for its minority hiring on the $82 million Westlawn renovation is just the latest in a growing debate over the city's minority contracting and hiring. In response to the MICAH complaint, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development officials have said they conducted an audit and will announce this month whether the housing authority violated the requirements under Section 3 on hiring low-income workers for the project. The housing authority maintains it did meet the Section 3 guidelines for that project, spokesman Paul Williams said. Information to support that is being prepared, he said. With the growing concentration of poverty in Milwaukee, the city needs to go the extra mile to ensure fairness and equality in hiring and contracting, the Rev. Joseph Ellwanger of MICAH said. Fussing with her skirt and flubbing her shots, Serena Williams was troubled in the U.S. Open final by the swirling air and the strong play of Victoria Azarenka. After one miss, Williams declared, "I can't play in this wind." After blowing a big second-set lead, Williams chucked her racket toward the sideline, and it bounced back onto the court. In the end, Williams pulled herself together, as she usually does when it matters the most. Facing her first test of the past two weeks, the No. 1-seeded Williams overcame No. 2 Azarenka 7-5, 6-7, 6-1 on Sunday for a fifth championship at Flushing Meadows and second in a row. Being Frank There are serious problems in Syria. President Obama is struggling to find a correct response to these problems. The world seems to be on the brink of another drawn out conflict. But in the USA the NFL season has gotten underway and that means pro football is back. The problems of the world can wait until February. The conflicts that rage in other countries are keeping many Americans up at night. The potential for another war involving US soldiers looms on the horizon. The wars in other countries have a negative impact on the psyche of the country. The weekly wars of pro football soothe the American psyche. What good is it for people to argue or worry about what’s happening in another country? Is worrying and debating about a potential conflict two oceans away going to change anything? Americans tend to get involved in many matters that don’t concern them. The American public is in a constant tizzy over issues that have little or no bearing on their lives. Instead of worrying about future bombing missions, Americans may want to choose a NFL team and enjoy.

The world can wait

Most Americans will never see a bombing mission but they can see a bomb thrown in a NFL stadium. The tight spiral of a perfectly thrown football dropping into a wide receiver's hands is beautiful. There is nothing pretty about a plane dropping bombs or launching missiles into buildings. The aftermath of both bombs can be devastating but after the football bomb the defenders usually get up. The intensity and concentration put into the preparation for a military strike and a football game is exhausting. While the military strike usually ends careers a football game can create legends. True there are military legends but they usually involve blood and death. Foot-

game. A fan may be upset with a coaching decision but the team will play another day. This is what makes the NFL so exciting to so many people around the world. If people take time to think about it football is a better alternative to worrying about possible war. True it’s good to know what is going on in the world but is it worth losing sleep? Bad quarterbacking can make you lose sleep but there is always the draft or free agency to address those issues. It is up to you ball legends are sometimes and what you enjoy. There bloody but never deadly. Football is a sport and war is hell. One brings excitement and pleasure; one brings misery and terror. There are people in the world who thrive on misery and they may love watching war clips. There are people who want to turn football into war but it’s not. No matter how much people hate their team losing they know there is always next Sunday or even next year. When you lose in war there is no tomorrow. The first week of NFL action is concluded. There are many heart-broken fans and many excited content fans. No matter which category a football fan falls into they know there is always another

Dispute over minority hiring (Continued from pg. 2) Department of Justice to look into disparities that persist in the City of Milwaukee's contracting and procurement policies, despite studies commissioned by the city that have documented disparities and identified recommendations to eliminate them. The complaint asked the Justice Department to investigate the claims and "grant any other relief it deems just and proper." In its complaint, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People said the city spent about $82 million on construction projects from 2005 through 2008, but less than $2.5 million went to qualified African Americanowned businesses. The complaint states that over an 18-year period the city spent $1 million on disparity studies but made no significant changes. A spokesman for the Justice Department would confirm only that the complaint was received. Milwaukee NAACP President James Hall said "It's my understanding that an investigator has been assigned to the case." He said he's also submitted additional information to federal officials. Earlier this year, the city settled a federal lawsuit brought by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin and the American Indian Chamber of Commerce by agreeing to repeal a new ordinance aimed at dealing with race- and gender-based contract preferences. In the suit the chambers contended that the new law, Ordinance 370, was an unconstitutional program of preferences in city contracting based on race and gender. They argued that the study on which the law was based was flawed and statistically invalid. The ordinance provided work opportunities for African American, Asian American, female-owned and small businesses. Hispanic-owned and other minority-owned businesses were not given any annual participation requirement because city officials said the disparity study showed that Hispanic construction firms had been so successful

that they no longer needed such preference. Rhonda Kelsey, purchasing director for the city, said that in light of the legal settlement, the city has reverted to its prior position of race and gender neutrality in awarding contracts. She said the city's office of small business development is focused on helping businesses get certified to take advantage of contracts and provide other assistance, including loans to businesses. Partnering to rebuild Milwaukee neighborhoods What is the emerging Business program? The Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority’s (WHEDA®) Emerging Business Program (EBP) is a powerful catalyst for creating better job opportunities in Wisconsin communities. WHEDA offers a variety of resources to support the development, involvement and utilization of economically disadvantaged businesses and workers in Wisconsin.

eBp in action Northcott Neighborhood House on Milwaukee’s north side partnered with Oregon, Wisconsin-based developer Gorman & Company on the Northside Housing Initiative, a landmark housing restoration effort. The project featured the construction of 40 rent-to-own, single-family homes on formerly vacant lots and the rehabilitation of a series of existing duplexes to provide an added 40 affordable rental units in the Metcalfe Park and North Division neighborhoods of Milwaukee, which are littered with foreclosures and blighted properties. WHEDA awarded $951,620 in Low Income Housing Tax Credits to Gorman in 2010 for the initiative and just over $1.5 million in credits in 2012. Gorman’s Wisconsin Market President Ted Matkom now depends greatly on the 24 recently-trained Northcott students for the second phase of the project, the acquisition and rehabilitation of 105 single-family homes into affordable rental units. “Northcott is literally training individuals in building homes, in siding, roofing, and carpentry,” said Matkom. “It’s a great idea.” Christopher Edwards, 41 and Elliott Urquhart, 45, both from Milwaukee, attend Northcott’s class. Edwards’ expertise is remodeling homes, while Urquhart is an unemployed welder. Advertisement

“I have an impeccable resume,” said Edwards. “But I can’t find work. I’m here to make myself more marketable, more employable.” “My goal is to get a respectable wage, own a home, and pass it on to my son,” said Urquhart. Both Edwards and Urquhart dream of being contractors someday, but have an even greater motivation. “I will unboard every boarded up house in this city,” Edwards proclaimed. “That’s my aspiration.” “We’re tired of seeing all those green boards,” Urquhart concurred. “If you’re going to revitalize the community, you have to hire from within those who are unemployed,” said Tony Kearney, Project Director at Northcott Neighborhood House. A former, previously unemployed student earned $17,898 last year and will likely make $25,000 this year. That type of turnaround is imperative in a community crippled by above average unemployment. The Gorman-Northcott partnership has been a success finding sustainable employment for the students. There is currently a waiting list of 1,200 to get into the Northcott classrooms. “WHEDA’s Emerging Business program is essential to facilitating small business,” said Matkom. “It’s working just great.” To learn more visit www.wheda.com/ EmergingBusiness and view our program performance report. The Counseling Corner

By Rev. Judith T. Lester, B.Min. M.Th

September – National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month (Week 3) Men, may I ask you a question? Have you seen your doctor lately? There is no better time than the month of September, during what has been designated as Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, for you to talk with your physician about this disease so you can make informed decisions about maintaining your prostate health. Although prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death among men, when detected early it also boasts some of the highest survival rates. Signs and symptoms of prostate cancer According to the American Cancer Society, early prostate cancer usually causes no symptoms. Some advanced

prostate cancers can slow or weaken your urinary stream or make you need to urinate more often, especially at night. But non-cancerous diseases of the prostate, such as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) cause these symptoms more often. If the prostate cancer is advanced, you might have blood in your urine (hematuria) or trouble getting an erection (impotence). Advanced prostate cancer commonly spreads to the bones, which can cause pain in the hips, back (spine), chest (ribs), or other areas. Cancer that has spread to the spine can also press on the spinal nerves, causing weakness or numbness in the legs or feet, or even loss of bladder or bowel control.

Other diseases can also cause many of these same symptoms. It is important to tell your doctor if you have any of these problems so that the cause can be found and treated, if needed. Men at average risk should start talking to their doctors beginning at age 50. Men

at higher risk should talk to their doctor about prostate testing earlier, including African Americans, at age 45, and men who’ve had a first-degree relative diagnosed with prostate cancer, at age 40. For both men at average risk and higher risk, information should be provided about what is known and what is uncertain about the benefits and limitations of early detection tests and treatments so they can make informed decisions about testing. If you or someone you know have questions on prostate cancer, talk to your health care professional or call the American Cancer Society at 1-800-227-2345 or visit them on-line at www. cancer.org

Bulletin Board Cruising toward college and careers It’s just the beginning of the school year, but MPS students are already getting ready for college. The MPS Department of College and Career Readiness is kicking off the 2013-14 school year with the college application campaign for high school seniors. During the campaign, set for Oct. 28 through Nov. 1, students at 20 MPS high schools will get support from their English teachers and volunteers with online college applications. College and Career Readiness MPS is working to make sure students as young as age six start thinking about the future – and become aware of and take advantage of the resources that will get them into college or on the right career path. Last year, the MPS Class of 2013 earned $24 million in scholarships, outpacing the Class of 2012 by $6 million. In grades 3 through 12, students use the online career exploration and planning tool Career Cruising. They learn right away how

their Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) test scores correlate to ACT college admissions test scores. Students in grades 5, 7, 9 and 11 also create personal Academic and Career Plans (ACPs) to help them shape their future options. All MPS community members and students in grade 6 and above can find additional support, including help with college and scholarship applications, at one of two MPS TEAM UP College Access Centers. Open evenings

More MPS schools honored for moving low-income students forward

and weekends, the community-based centers help students and families navigate the sometimes-confusing process of applying for college and financial aid. All high school students will get the MPS TEAM UP College and Career Readiness planning calendar this week – check it for important career and college planning dates and deadlines. Find out more at www.MPSTEAMUP.com.

The state Department of Public Instruction is honoring more MPS schools as Wisconsin Title I Schools of Recognition this year for successfully educating students from low-income families. Students at MPS’ I.D.E.A.L. School, which has been honored as a Wisconsin School of Recognition for seven straight years. DPI named 17 MPS schools as Schools of Recognition this year, an increase from 14 the prior year. Of those 17, 12 are being recognized for at least the second year in a row. Among the 17 MPS schools, one school – MPS’ Milwaukee German Immersion School – won the honor as a “High-Progress School” for falling within the top 10 percent across the state for growth in reading and math and for having small achievement gaps or reducing achievement gaps among

student groups. The remaining 16 are being honored as “Beating the Odds Schools” for landing within the top 25 percent of high-poverty schools across the state and have higherthan-average reading and math achievement when compared to similar schools across the state. The 17 winning MPS schools are: • High-Progress School • Milwaukee German Immersion School • Beating the Odds Schools • Academia de Lenguaje y Bellas Artes (ALBA) (2 years in a row) • Academy of Accelerated Learning (AAL) (5 years in a row) • Louisa May Alcott School (2 years in a row) • Luther Burbank School • Clement Avenue School (2 years in a row) (Continued pg. 16)

Talking Health with Dr. Carter

13

By Dr. Lester Carter Owner, Carter Drug Store

Seven paths to your ideal weight (part 3) Worldwide, obesity is on the rise. In the US, seven out of ten people are overweight or obese. According to an article in Obesity, Johns Hopkins researchers predict that by 2030 (one more generation), 86.6 percent of American adults will be overweight or obese. In other words, it is going to take a concerted effort from all concerned adults to transform this almost certain future. The responsibility falls especially hard on parents who need to ensure that their children grow up eating wholesome food and getting regular exercise. Fill your plate The Full Plate Diet, By Stuart A. Seale, MD, Teresa Sherard, MD, Diana Fleming, PhD, LDN. (Hardcover, $19.9 5). This diet is based entirely on the calorie light, nutrient

dense, full stomach concept. The take away here is "The more fiber you eat, the more weight you'll lose." Dietary fiber makes you feel full - and it contains no calories. When you add fiber to your meals, you eat fewer calories. Voila! A slimmer you. The authors predict that fiber is the Next Big Thing in nutrition. Their beautiful full color book is a perfect guide to eating more fiber-packed whole foods. Medical researchers are among the strongest supporters of a high fiber diet. The Institutes of Medicine, plus the American Heart, Diabetes, and Dietetic Associations all recommend increasing our intake of dietary fiber. Interestingly, a recent USDA survey found that over the last decade dietary fiber information is the only label info that has seen an in-

crease in use by consumers. Few realize how important eating fiber is to weight control. There is a strong and proven relationship between high fiber consumption and weight. Knowing that our stomachs need 3- 4 pounds

of food for us to feel satisfied and that fiber is filling and has no calories, this information is easy to understand. When we feel fuller, we eat less. In one study, participants who increased their fiber, lost 37 percent more weight than those who didn't

add fiber. In this book, you learn about the top 5 fiber-containing fruits, veggies, beans, nuts and seeds, and grains. Photos of delectable foods show you what to eat and how to add fiber to foods you already eat. For example, "power-up" your oatmeal (1 cup, 4 gm/fiber) with an apple and an ounce of slivered almonds (for a total of 12 gm/fiber). Your goal is to eat at least 40 grams of fiber every day, and lose weight naturally. The authors include the Prochaska Readiness Assessment to help you determine if you're ready for change. Are you? I sure am. Continued next week: Cure Stress

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month By James Morning, Men’s Health Network Advisor Prostate cancer is the most common form of cancer in men, striking over 200,000 men each year. African-American men are at the highest risk.

Every year, about 30,000 men die of this disease, making it the second deadliest cancer in men. Caught early, prostate cancer can be treated, usually successfully. But because many men experience no symptoms, it is often identified only by an

abnormal result on a basic prostate cancer screening. For the last 20 years, doctors have had a powerful weapon in their arsenal for detecting prostate cancer. In addition to the DRE (a physical exam allowing the doctor to feel the prostate), pa-

tients can also have a simple blood test called a PSA, which will detect a majority of prostate problems early. In the two decades that the PSA has been used, prostate cancer deaths have declined, and the number of successfully treated prostate cancer cases has risen. During September, Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, Men’s Health Network is urging men to talk to their health care providers about prostate cancer, and to consider screening at age 50, and at age 40 for African Americans and men with a family history of prostate cancer. The group also encourages women to get involved and urge their husbands to ask their health care provider about a prostate screening, including a PSA test. If you are on Medicare, prostate cancer screening is a part of your Welcome to Medicare physical, the free comprehensive physical exam you receive in your first year of eligibility. For younger men, 36 states require that insurance companies offering health insurance provide coverage for

prostate cancer tests. Insurance companies may offer prostate cancer screening in the remaining states, but are not required to do so. The bottom line? Having an annual prostate exam, including a PSA test, just might save your life. No matter what age you are, that annual PSA test creates a benchmark against which to judge future tests. When you receive your PSA test results, ask your health care provider what your PSA number is, write it down, and compare it against future tests. If the number goes up in future tests, talk to your doctor. September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. It’s the perfect time to call your health care provider, schedule an appointment, and get your prostate cancer test done. Then, talk to your health care provider and determine what screening and treatment options are best for you and your family. BloodCenter of Wisconsin enhancing treatments for patients with sickle cell disease Lakiesha is an Alverno College student who hopes to one day produce documentary films and travel the globe. She’s also one of 800 Wisconsin residents living with sickle cell disease (SCD). “I want to start my own production company someday,” said Lakiesha. “I don’t want sickle cell disease to stand in the way of my future.” SCD is the most prevalent hereditary blood disorder in the United States. It affects 90,000-100,000 Americans and one in every 500 African Americans. SCD causes red blood cells to take on a sickle or crescent shape, making it more difficult to flow freely through blood vessels. Insufficient blood flow to tissues can result, causing excruciating pain crises, increased infections and organ damage. Lakiesha was diagnosed with SCD at age 13, and the years that followed were difficult. “I experienced frequent pain crises,” said Lakiesha. “I was hospitalized many times.” In 2011, BloodCenter of Wisconsin’s Dr. Joshua Field

Lakiesha founded the Adult Sickle Cell Disease Clinic at Froedtert Hospital. Today, Lakiesha is one of more than 270 patients being treated at the clinic. There she receives regular blood transfusions that keep her as healthy as possible. “While I still experience occasional pain, I’m so grateful for the blood donors who have helped me feel healthy enough to manage my daily life.” The care Dr. Field provides to patients at the clinic is helping to bridge the health care gap for local adults living

with SCD. His work is changing the way patients with this disease in Milwaukee are being treated — through comprehensive, specialized care that is preventing costly emergency room visits and hospital stays. In addition, he is developing new treatment methods and bringing cutting-edge therapeutics to his patients. New treatment promises better pain management Dr. Field is leading the efforts for a Phase II clinical trial of a drug called regadenoson. Regadenoson is a promising new patient therapy with the potential to decrease the severity of painful episodes suffered by people with SCD. A Phase I safety study of regadenoson was completed earlier this year. The trial’s second phase is being conducted at treatment centers in eight major U.S. cities including Milwaukee, Boston, Baltimore, Detroit, Chicago, Cincinnati, Chapel Hill and St. Louis. “Sickle cell disease can be devastating,” says Dr. Field. “Therapies for the two most common complications, pain and acute chest syndrome, are very limited. In addition, BloodCenter hopes to raise awareness of the critical need for African American blood donations. “People with SCD are less likely to experience complications if they receive blood of a type that closely matches their own,” says Dr. Field. “The best matches for individuals of African descent come from individuals of African descent because people of a common genetic heritage are more likely to Dr. Joshua Field express similar proteins on their red blood cells.” son has the potential to help Today, fewer than 3 perpeople with SCD by decreas- cent of BloodCenter’s blood ing the severity of these life- donors are African Amerithreatening problems.” can. Children’s Hospital project addresses importance of immunizations and safe infant sleep practices

Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin hopes a new project will help raise awareness of the importance of immunizations and following safe infant sleep practices in Milwaukee neighborhood Children’s Hospital’s vision is that the children it serves are the healthiest in the nation. In Milwaukee, the number of sleep-related infant deaths is high and immunization rates are low. To help address these issues, Children’s Hospital created “newborn welcome kits” containing items a new mother may need to care for a baby – including an infant sleep sack, a bib and baby wipes – and information about general infant care, immunizations and safe infant sleep. Children’s Hospital is enlisting the help of other organizations in Milwaukee neighborhoods, such as churches and family-support programs, to distribute 1,000 kits to new parents and caregivers. So far, about 500 newborn welcome kits have been distributed. Children’s Hospital is hopeful it will receive the grant money needed to produce more kits and reach more families with these important messages. “We want to make sure parents know the ABC’s of safe sleep: babies always should sleep alone; babies should sleep on their backs and babies should sleep in a crib.” said Jason Jarzembowski, MD, PhD, Safe Sleep Initiative, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. The Children’s Hospital safe sleep initiative began two-and-a-half years ago with

the goals of implementing safe sleep practices throughout the hospital, providing families with the knowledge and resources necessary to provide safe sleep environments for their babies, and partnering with community groups and neighboring health care organizations to spread these messages more effectively. Today, the safe sleep “working group” currently comprises more than 40 individuals from more than 20 specialty areas. Together, they have created online instructional modules that have been viewed by over 1600 employees; instituted mandatory safe sleep screening and education at the time of admission and discharge of every infant patient; and designed, pro-

duced, and distributed 10,000 door hangers, 1,000 window clings, and countless teaching sheets emblazoned with the “ABCs” of safe sleep. About Children’s Hospital Children’s Hospital is the region’s only independent health care system dedicated solely to the health and

well-being of children. The hospital, with locations in Milwaukee and Neenah, WI, is recognized as one of the leading pediatric health care centers in the United States. It is ranked No. 4 in the nation by Parents magazine and ranked in 9 specialty areas in U.S. News & World Report’s 2013-14 Best Children’s

Hospitals report. Children’s Hospital provides primary care, specialty care, urgent care, emergency care, community health services, foster and adoption services, child and family counseling, child advocacy services and family resource centers. In 2011, Children’s Hospital invested more than $100 million in the community to improve the health status of children through medical care, advocacy, education and pediatric medical research. Children’s Hospital achieves its mission in part through donations from individuals, corporations and foundations and is proud to be a member of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
