Milwaukee responds to COVID-19: Closures and cancellations
Coronavirus is causing organizers to cancel or postpone some community events. The following events have been canceled or postponed: • Potawatomi Hotel & Casino: Closing at 5 p.m., March 17. No word on when it will reopen. • Milwaukee Municipal Court: Closed until May 1. • Skylight Theatre’s Evita and Candide: Rescheduled for later dates. • Pabst Mansion: Closed until April 6. • BBB's Annual Torch Award Luncheon for April 9 is canceled. • Harley-Davidson Museum, restaurant, gift shop: Closed until April 6. • Elton John concert: Farewell Yellow Brick Road show scheduled for April 28 at Fiserv Forum postponed for a later date. • Humboldt Park Easter Egg Hunt: Scheduled for March 28, now canceled. • Lager & Friends Beer Festival: Scheduled for March 21, now postponed for a later date. • Milwaukee County Public Library: All branches closed starting

Current COVID-19 info • Public health officials have issued warnings against holding large gatherings where guests are in close proximity to one another. • Health officials are recommending people who have traveled to places with active COVID-19 in the past 14 days to monitor their health and to self-quarantine. • Those developing symptoms like fever, cough or breathing problems should call their local health department for possible testing. • So far, at least 90 Wisconsin patients have tested positive for the coronavirus. One has recovered. • An additional 313 patients have tested negative. • As of Wednesday March 18, 2020, at least 111 Americans have died from the coronavirus. • There are now nearly 6,135 confirmed cases across the country. www.milwaukeetimesnews.com
