Mill Steel Wins West Michigan Best & Brightest Award selected as an Elite Award winner in the category of Recruitment, Selection and Orientation! This is Mill Steel's 9th year winning an Elite Award.

Every year organizations throughout the region contend to be one of West Michigan’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For. Only those that distinguish themselves as having the most innovative human resources practices, and those who exhibit continued commitment to employee enrichment, can be bestowed this award. Of the 101 companies fortunate enough to receive this honor, 13 are selected as Elite Award winners, one for each category of judgement criteria.

The winners were honored on May 3rd at an annual symposium and awards program at the JW Marriott in Grand Rapids. Before the awards ceremony, Corporate Development and Quality Systems Manager, Troy Mossel, took the stage to contribute to a Best Practices Panel. The panel consisted of representatives from previous Elite Award winning companies. The discussion was moderated by Shelly Irwin from WGVSU and focused on each company’s strengths relating to associate engagement, employee retention, community outreach, work-life balance, etc.

Individuals were selected at random to receive a survey regarding Mill Steel’s performance in various categories. An independent research firm evaluated the responses and selected the winners based on how the company scored amongst regional standards for each category. Thank you to everyone that took the time to complete a survey and provide honest feedback, it was truly the support from associates that earned Mill Steel this honor!
