ASSOCIATE HIGHLIGHT

STEVEN LIVERS, JEFFERSONVILLE LEAD

What is your role here Mill Steel?

I am a lead in the Jeffersonville Plant. My role mainly focuses on running the beginning of the pack line which includes me transferring coils from tree to tree. I also assist with looking over the machinery in the plant I volunteer to work on non-production days, such as Saturday and Sunday, to help prepare for the upcoming week

Where are you from and who makes up your family?

I’m from Louisville, KY but grew up in New Albany. Unfortunately, I have lost my mom, dad, pawpaw and brother but I still have my sister, Heather, her husband, Mark and their two kids.

What is your favorite way to spend your weekends?

I enjoy driving my dad’s 1966 Mustang that my “Pawpaw”, father, and I restored together. It has a 302 engine, an aggressive flow master exhaust, and disc brakes with manual steering I have a blast driving it around places and it means a lot to me.

What is a work lesson that you’ve had to learn the hard way?

A work lesson that I’ve learned the hard way is to not allow those who are having a tough day keep me from acting like the best version of myself and not saying things that I will later regret. I have grown a lot in my 10 years at Mill Steel.

What do you like best about your job? What is the biggest challenge?

What I like most about my job is the family like environment that has been established at Mill Steel. I’ve worked for Mill Steel for over 10 years and enjoy coming to work and making lifelong memories with my colleagues.

The 1966 Mustang that Steven and his family restored together

The first edition focused on National Wellness Month, encouraging all of us to take a moment to prioritize our mind, body, and spirit. It also shared helpful resources for parents, whether supporting kids heading off to college or navigating challenges as new parents during National Breastfeeding Month. From free counseling to expert consultations, the EAP offers guidance for life’s ups, downs, and everything in between.

Be sure to watch for these monthly HR updates and remember that help is just a call or click away.
