Mill Steelers and family enjoyed some quality time and a baseball game at Fifth Norms Third Ballpark on Wednesday, August 31st. A great time was had by all watching the September Business Values Brief Recap West Michigan Whitecaps take home a win against the South Bend Cubs!

Associate Highlight Kevin Sanchez, Tech Services

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

Well, growing up I always wanted to be a race car driver. I still think it would be pretty cool to be a Formula 1 driver. Maybe running a restaurant would be nice too, I would have liked that.

What is your personal motto and why?

Limits are just in the mind. You can always push yourself and achieve more – it’s all in the mindset.

What quality do you most admire?

I hate lies, so I would have to say honesty is what I appreciate the most.

If you could spend a day with anyone, living or dead, who would it be?

I would spend a day with my Grandpa and Kevin and his girlfriend, Lali, at her aunt’s 25th anniversary celebration. have him tell me stories from way back What is your role here at Mill when.

Where are you from, and who makes up I work in our IT department and your family? take care of support for everything outside of the Power 7 system.

What do you like best and least about your job?

What I love about my job is that every day is different. I get to work on a variety of problems and technologies. My least favorite part is that sometimes I would like to focus on one project, but with how busy we are, that is not always possible. I have learned to multitask and take care of what is most Kevin with his family and his girlfiend’s family on top of Stone Mountain in Atlanta. important first.

I was born in Manhattan, where I lived until kindergarten My family moved to the Dominican Republic for a few years, then to Grand Rapids, MI after that.

I have one brother and five sisters. My grandmother had 12 kids and my grandfather had 32…so I have many aunts, uncles, and cousins!

Tell us a little known fact about you.

I am a Jehovah’s Witness. I like cars and food. I grew up in a mechanic shop.

Name: Danielle Reygaert Location & Department: Grand Rapids / Inside Sales Intern Danielle is a senior at Grand Valley State University, double majoring in Supply Chain Management and Marketing. In her free time, Danielle enjoys staying active and working out. She loves spending time with her family and friends, especially skiing & snowboarding in the winter time with them. Danielle also has two golden retrievers named Hanna and Taylor.

Name: Bryce Williams Location & Department: Grand Rapids / Inside Sales Intern Bryce is currently a junior at Grand Valley State University, studying Supply Chain Management. He is from Howell, MI and loves living in the state of Michigan. Some of his hobbies include soccer, basketball, and baseball.

He also enjoys outdoor activities such as camping, kayaking, and hiking. A fun fact about Bryce is that he is a two-time intramural outdoor soccer champion!

Name: Harun Bogdanic Location & Department: Grand Rapids / Inside Sales Intern Harun is a junior at Grand Valley State University, studying Supply Chain Management. He is a Bosnia and Herzegovina native. He was born in the city of Bielefeld, Germany, but raised in Detroit, MI. Harun loves any type of grappling sport, going to the beach with friends, and finding new cafes across Grand Rapids. An interesting fact about Harun is that he enjoys cooking and is bilingual.

Marc joins Mill Steel with over 25 years of experience in warehousing, packaging and transportation. He enjoys traveling, art and tennis. He captained and played on two championship tennis teams this summer, representing West Michigan at States in the 18 & over and 40 & over divisions. He and his wife have resided in the Greater Grand Rapids area their entire adult lives and have two children, Zach and Madeleine. Zach is in his second year at Hillsdale College and Made’ will attend Hope College in 2017. His favorite quote is, “Character is doing what’s right when nobody’s looking.”

Name: Dave Dziuban Location & Department: Jeffersonville / SSP Plant Manager Dave joins SSP as the new Plant Manager. He is married to his wife, Dana, and has a 12-yearold son named Carter. They recently relocated to Kentucky from Virginia. Dave loves football and is a diehard Alabama fan. He is also an avid golfer and enjoys spending time with his family and their two boxers, Lilly and Calleigh. An interesting fact about Dave is that a few months ago he completed his Six Sigma Black Belt through Villanova University.

Name: Shelby Mitchell Location & Department: Grand Rapids / Accounting Intern Shelby currently attends Davenport University, in pursuit of an International Business degree and an MBA in accounting. Shelby never turns down an opportunity to visit a new place. In fact, she has visited Europe, Canada, Mexico, and Scotland! She also enjoys spending time with her friends and boyfriend, especially when they can be outdoors. Shelby has a cocker spaniel, English setter mix named Cole and a three-striped mud turtle named Harrison. After college she plans to move to Europe, most likely the Netherlands.

Congratulations!

Congrats to Samantha Darrow and her fiancé Kyle on their recent engagement! Kyle asked Samantha to be his wife while on vacation in Sonoma, CA with his family. Sam says the setting was perfect, “on a balcony of the house they were staying in, ‘ overlooking the vineyards and beautiful countryside.”

Ladder Golf Champions Steel Structural Products studs being used in the construction of Thorntons Inc. Headquarters in Louisville, KY. The customer gave feedback to Account Manager, Adam Saunders, that they are very happy with SSP’s quality of steel.

New Slitting Line in Anderson A team of Mill Steel associates played a major part in the installation of the 48” Stampco Slitting Line in Anderson. The team was led by Larry Czajkowski, Martin Tobey, and Walter Kalisz. Chris Bertram, Jimmy “Pickles” Dills, and Sean Tomlin also played key roles in getting the production line up and running. Great job and thank you to everyone that was involved!

The final event of Q3 fundraising for D.A. Blodgett – St. John’s was a Ladder Ball To u r n a m e n t , where 12 teams of two showed up to compete.

After some very close matches, Larry Tiffany and Paul Dooge (Team The Bear and His Cub), beat out Mark Etherton and Jared Boestma (Team Meth & Boots) for 1st place. The event raised $240 with Mill Steel’s match, which brought our Q3 fundraising grand total to $158,550! Thank you to everyone that participated and donated time or funds over the last three months to make that possible!
