The Millennial Cowgirl digital magazine is a monthly issue focused on fashion in and out of the arena, women equestrian entrepreneurs, and the entire realm of showing our stock horses.
Editor's Note
November is a time to be thankful & thankful I am! This magazine has been alive for 3 years now, with lots of changes being throw in the mix as we grew, adapted, and overcame challenges & blessings.
If it was not for this magazine, my creative potential I believe would have faded away, but I am so glad I decided to pursue so many things that I am passionate about to make all of this continue happening.
What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving? And as always,
Thankssomuch!
3 Years
For three years, I have been creating pages to highlight some amazing businesses within the industry and it has transformed to where Millennial Cowgirl is today. It has been an adventure and something that has been such a joy to be doing.
Our roots came from a blog of all things! I was so anxious to interview great business owners and even stallion owners in the beginning, that I started with a blog on the website.
I experimented with the blog, but a year later is when I decided I would try launching a digital magazine. The thing that I have learned is trial and error is a okay. Being a multi passionate entrepreneur is sometimes a little rocky, and it is hard figuring out where to put your focus. I have enjoyed the graphic parts of the magazine, putting stories together, chatting with the folks wrapped up in the stories, and then piecing it all together.
This also opened up other avenues of being creative with ad and business card designs, creating my own merch, and all that has come with that!
Over the last 3 years, my focus has shifted a few times. I adore our small businesses within the industry, but I have always had an obsession for the fashion in the pen as well. In my younger days, I actually dabbled in creating my own show clothing and still have all the stones and beads in my garage with half done clothing hanging in my closet.
Over the last year, I have fully run with the fashion aspect for the magazine. It has been incredible to see some of these garments that our designers work tirelessly to create. The article I wrote about day shirts being popular at the 2021 Congress even got reposted!
With growing our media pass coverage, it has lead to another way of expressing my creativity - capturing candids.
HERE ARE SOME OF MY FAVORITES:
I never believed I would enjoy photography, but little did I know that capturing these moments would be so rewarding. I love seeing the riders enjoying their rides, the horses enjoying their jobs, and catching those emotions behind the scenes of doing something we all love showing our horses!
I have spent the the summer and fall dedicating time to learn more about how to capture these moments better, and can't wait to lead into 2023 with this new direction for Millennial Cowgirl.
As a creator, Millennial Cowgirl will now be a full fledge media company for the equine industry. After launching a podcast within the last year, having a great reach on TikTok, and over all enjoying the media aspect of the business. We will be heading back to our roots on blogging, offering freelance writing services, as well as still shooting candids and creating video content! We are so excited for these changes, and can't wait to share them with you!
Look for updates on our website in the upcoming month!

AsmallarticleseriesbyMaryMoormanNovember is upon us already with the holidays fast approaching. This month we have a vintage Mosser white milk glass reclining horse covered dish. The dish is 5 5" long by 4 5" tall The horse being Milk Glass was made by Mosser Glass Company in Cambridge Ohio. They have been in business for over 50 years and 30 years in Cambridge. They are family owned and operated. They have made and still make Carnival, Vaseline and Opalescent glass pieces. Production years of this particular horse on nest cannot be found. Horse covered reclining dishes are highly collectible pieces and are quite rare They were made by a few different companies, two others being McKee and also Summit. Signed pieces usually go for a lot more money. Vaseline and Opalescent are highly sought after. These horses come in a variety of colors including mixed swag They are all very beautiful and were originally made as candy dishes but now are used mostly for display purposes Prices range from $30 to over $150 depending on condition, maker marks, glass type and color. This particular Milk Glass horse on nest is valued around $30. It is an unsigned piece but is still a very nice piece for display
Happy Collecting! And Happy Thanksgiving!
