Why Desktops Are Still Best For Gaming Part 1

I’m looking forward to treating myself to a whole week of video gaming goodness. I’ll sell my old laptop to begin with, replace it with a high-end desktop, and immerse myself in the latest adventures of SAS captain John “Soap” MacTavish, Renaissance assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze, and whichever new hapless soul happens to stumble along onto the foggy streets of Silent Hill, before capping it all off with a nonstop weekend of building up my Ottoman civilization from a simple hunter-gatherer community to a far-reaching futuristic technological empire. Yes, I need that much respite from work. And yes, this is how this geek wants to spend his first of two vacations this year. Don’t judge. Why do I need to sell my laptop for cash and switch to a desktop, you ask? Well, first of all, my laptop is already more than two years old. It can still operate the mandatories like Microsoft Office and the latest Adobe Photoshop pretty well, but it can’t handle the stress of operating graphics-heavy programs like the newer video games. Aside from being more expensive than desktops of equal specs, laptops have a significantly shorter highend lifespan. This is because most makes of laptops are not capable of having their processors, graphics cards, RAMs, and whatnot upgraded; at least not cheaply. And even if you could afford to do so, why bother when you can just buy a new laptop for a little over a hundred more? Bottom line: Once laptops become outdated, more often than not, that’s that. Check out the next part of this article tomorrow. In the meantime, Cash4laptops.com is looking for your old laptop! Do check out the site and have a laptop trade-in if you wish.
