Updates on COVID he Virginia Executive order 53 limiting nonessential business was extended to May 8th. The order is subject to the change, the Governor’s office is looking for 14 days of consecutive decrease in positive COVID testing before they will start the process of opening Virginia back up for business. Currently, the Town is monitoring the Governors press conferences. to petition the Circuit Court to extend that date up to an additional 16 days. Solid Waste Middleburg formed a Town consortium in October with five other local townships. There was regional RFP developed for recycling, refuse, and collection. Four companies responded to the RFP, two of which submitted proposals. American Disposal was chosen based on several factors. Finalize and award the RFP, all five members of the consortium, to give the thumbs. Restaurant Voucher Program The Town started a voucher support program to aid in keeping the Town’s restaurants going during these trying times. Vouchers were given to Town residents. Feedback from the program has been “Fononmal,” both the restaurants and residents are extremely grateful for the Towns support,” Danny Davis Town Administrator said.
