Keota holds first flag ceremony
Amie Van Patten, Regional Editor A new tradition has been developed at the Keota Community School district. Mr. Phelps is kicking off the school year with a flag ceremony with members of the Keota VFW present to lead in this ceremony. Hopes
are that the students will continue with this tradition for years to come and that it will serve as a reminder of the great country that we live in. Both the High school and elementary took part in this celebration to kick off a great school year. Firefighters work on putting out the prop fire.
Handling LP Emergencies Keota Volunteer Fire Department provided training in Handling LP Emergencies. This class had sixteen
students and five instructors and the class included four hours with the burn prop located in Keota.
Superintendent Dennis Phelps and staff members sing the National Anthem.
The flags flew high on this beautiful day.
