Kiwanis Classic Miss Eldora is off to the Fair boasts big prizes By Rick Patrie News Editor ELDORA – The fifth annual Eldora Kiwanis Golf Classic sports a prize list topped off by a new car, $10,000 cash and a new kayak – all you have to do is score a simple hole in one on either of the three designated holes at the Pine Lake Country Club. The tournament is back in much the same format, promising to help fund a whole list of Kiwanis community service projects out of the entry fees. It is set for July 22 at the Pine Lake Country Club, registrations starting at 12:30 and T-time at 1:30 p.m. If you want to be part of things, Kiwanis urges you to register early because there are limited spots. The game is two person best shot this year, nine holes, and if you want in, call Kirk Barrett at the Green Belt Bank and Trust here in Eldora (641) 858-2005), or email him at: kbarrett@greenbeltbank.com. Prizes include a new car courtesy of Dale Howard Motors in Iowa Falls, it goes to the first person who scores a hole in one on number 6; $10,000 cash to the first to score a hole in one on hole number one, and a new kayak courtesy of Theisen’s in Iowa Falls for the first to score a

whole in one on hole number 8. There are a host of other awards going out as well, including those for the top two teams in each flight. The thirty-dollar entry fee goes toward the Kiwanis many community service projects, and in addition to the golfing gets the participant a 4:30 p.m. meal after the competition. More Eldora is spreading its summer Pine Lake Festival over a couple of weekends this year. A lot of familiar events return and the list right now could easily grow, as it’s still a month away. July 22 and 23 the big flea market is back at the fairgrounds. It has become one of the big fest favorites over the last four years. Vendors will be found at the community building again. Also on the 23rd of July, the Hardin County Farm Museum invites everyone out for another pancake breakfast.
