Time to clean out your medicine cabinet September 26 is Boone County’s 12th drug drop off since 2009. The drug drop off gives county residents the opportunity to clean out their medicine cabinets and bring unused or expired medications (pet medications too!) in for proper disposal. Proper disposal protects the environment, makes it impossible for drugs to wind up in the wrong hands, and is fast and convenient. The drop off is from 10 am to noon at the Boone, Madrid and Ogden police departments. Pills, liquids, patches, vitamins, supplements, over the counter and prescription medications are all accepted. We cannot accept needles, industrial or bloody waste, or thermometers. Drug Drop Offs present a great opportunity to update your medication lists (ask your nurse or doctor to review your medication list to make sure it is up to date). Then compare your list with the medications and dosages you have at home and dispose of any medications that are no longer prescribed or are expired. Also be sure to check for expired over the counter and pet medications too. Not only does this help keep everyone safe, but it reduces the chance that someone visiting the house would have access to steal medications for personal use. If you cannot bring your items to the drop off on the 26th, please consider using the permanent drop box at either the Boone Police Department or Boone County Sheriff’s Office. If you have any questions about the drug drop off contact Kelly Wooden at 515-433-4917.

the actual game was won by the Iowa Hawkeyes. The Cyclones edged the Hawkeyes with a total of 585 to 570 nonperishable food pantry items.
