John and Jann Kuehner, owners of the White House. (Photo by Joyce Meyer) By Joyce Meyer With the holidays around the corner and family home, many people venture off the beaten path to St. Lucas in Northeast Iowa to the White House Supper Club owned by Jann and John Kuehner to celebrate with friends and family. This place has been known for their fabulous food, especially steak and lobster, all the way back

to when Jann’s parents, Mark and the late Marge Mihm, opened the place in 1965 and the tradition of great food and service has continued with Jann and John, who took over in 1978. My husband likes to go on Saturday night’s when they have prime rib, and I like their ribeye, filet mignon or jumbo shrimp. But to begin with, I especially enjoy their peach daiquiri that John makes! Next time you are there, make sure

you try one and you will find you just may have to have at least one each time you come, they are that addicting! Prices? Not bad. Filet mignon is $15.95 for a 7-ounce and $19.95 for a 10-ounce portion. Choice of potato and salad, relish tray, garlic toast and crackers are included. At one time Mark Mihm owned the restaurant, jewelry store, and WHITE HOUSE to page 3
