COLLEAGUE SPOTLIGHT Christine Moore Christine Moore serves as senior vice president and deputy general auditor for Comerica Bank. She is responsible for a department of 64 auditors and helps set a strategic vision for the department while also directing and managing its activities. The department’s ongoing efforts to monitor and evaluate the risk environment require her to communicate and establish relationships with external auditors, federal and state regulators, as well as management throughout the organization. Moore attended Marygrove College in Detroit where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. She continued her schooling and earned a Master’s of Business Administration degree from the University of Detroit Mercy. Additionally, Moore earned a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) designation prior to joining Comerica. Her drive to further develop her wealth of knowledge continued while at Comerica, where she earned a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist and Certified Fiduciary and Investment Risk Specialist designation.

advocates to address the unique challenges facing citizen soldiers. Buddy-to-Buddy’s volunteer veterans help post-9/11 members of the military overcome the stigma of asking for help and links those facing challenges with the appropriate re-

source to optimize their quality of life, from the Veterans Administration Health System and Michigan State University, and veteran advocates to address the unique challenges facing citizen soldiers.

Comerica’s National Contributions Manager Janice Tessier (right) recently hosted students from Martin Luther King, Jr. Senior High School at a Detroit Economic Club luncheon. The students had an opportunity to meet and hear from Detroit’s former emergency manager, Kevyn Orr (standing, fourth from right) who was the keynote speaker, and Ken Whipple (standing, center), the retired chair and CEO of Consumers Energy, the meeting’s presiding officer.

Her 18 years of experience with Comerica Bank over the last 23 years and her numerous certifications makes her an admirable asset and leader at Comerica. One of the most enjoyable aspects of her career is working with people every day. She spends time with her team, helping them solve problems and steering them to find the best solutions while guiding them on the potential risks. She appreciates the opportunity to mentor others in their careers, sharing her personal experiences and providing colleagues with knowledge to help them grow. Moore’s concern for others extends from her colleagues at Comerica into the community. She serves on the board for the Alternatives for Girls organization which helps to empower young women. She has been the chair of the Comerica African American Network, an employee resource networking group, for the past two years, emphasizing professional development and community-focused activities. She also volunteers with the Rosedale Park Radio Patrol to help keep the community safe and stays connected with her children’s education by volunteering at their schools.

What is your most memorable career accomplishment? “I’d say my most memorable career accomplishment is having a job that I love and being able to work with people I enjoy. Earning my various certifications has allowed me to keep current on the industry and continue to grow personally and professionally.” How did you get to where you are now? “Like many people, I’ve learned the importance of working hard and wisely using my time when I’m at work. I‘m fortunate to be surrounded by a strong, talented team that shares information and supports each other.” What do you enjoy most about working for Comerica? “I enjoy the opportunity to build relationships. Comerica offers programs that allow me to be a mentor. The relationships that I’ve built while mentoring are friendships that still exist today and that’s a rewarding feeling.”

Comerica returned as a sponsor of the annual Go Red for Women luncheon to support the American Heart Association and its efforts to fight heart disease in women. Showing their support at the event, which was held on National Wear Red Day, were Comerica colleagues (clockwise from lower left) Linda Forte, senior vice president, business affairs; Janice Tessier, national contributions manager; Patricia McCann, national civic affairs manager; and Caroline Solomon Chambers, national diversity manager.

Comerica volunteers were at Joy Preparatory Academy-Oakland Campus recently for the bank’s Youth Savings Program. Kids such as kindergarten student Aiden Carr completed an application and a job interview before being selected to work at his school’s simulated banking center.

What are your goals for the future? “My goal is to raise my boys to be strong, independent, community-oriented men. I want to help guide them to be successful with whatever path they choose.” What are some things you do for yourself? “I work to stay in shape and recently started ballroom dancing, which is such fun for me. I also enjoy traveling and trying new things. I’ve had the opportunity to travel to Italy and France with my sons. It was a great experience to share with them.”
