1 hour Presentation:
A conversation on how often we think we are communicating to people clearly, but that in reality, we are not understanding that the language, words and tones we use are deeply personal, subjective and defined by our childhood, upbringing and cultural heritage. By using several quick group exercises to clearly demonstrate that each person has their own way of defining even the most used words, it becomes clear that we all have our own unique language. The second part of the conversation is that now that we have experienced this, how do we approach our clients with language that works for THEM?
The true meaning of words
2 hour presentation: This talk goes more in depth about the different ways that we assume that we all have the same definition of words. We address how this can show up in our conversation, how the words we use can have an opposite reaction of what we intend and how to notice the cues that the communication is not going the way we intend and what to do to re-establish the connection and rapport with our client.
