A piece of infinity The concept of this project is realized upon the realization of an urban scenery that is deprived of the skyscape due to skycrapers. What is so special about the sky then? It gives one a sense of infinity, a sense of no limitation, freedom. This freedom becomes the driving force and at the same time the end goal of the design.

A figure ground study of the skyscape of the journey from different entrances to the site.

The trend observed is that more of the sky is revealed as one gets closer to the site.

the three kinds of programs that are present in the sports center, spirit, body and mind. The ‘spirit’ programs , such as yoga space , the cafe and generally places to rest, will offer the users the ultimate sense of infinity, a reward deserved after streinous exercises. This will also make sure that the quality of rest given is maximised .For the ‘body’ programs, one needs to be focused and be ‘in their body’ to carry out exercises effectively. Hence, the design conveys this need by providing a sense of direction, a linear straigthforward direction, through light and materiality. This sense of one direction is a manifestation of the sense of finity. This compares to the ‘spirit’ space where there is no one direction guiding, where the mind is allowed to be free.

SKETCHES In the ‘mind’ space, the use of wood panels roof and columns is meant to instill focus to the mind and simultaneuosly rest to the body.

Columns are used to emphasise perspective view, leading and inviting passerby to the space of rest.

Transition from ‘mind’ to ‘body’ space- emphasising the experience of entering to an enclosed space through the change of materiality and use of horizontal wood panels.

Framing the view of the sky- a hint to the infinite- for toilet and resting space.
