Developing projects for today as well as tomorrow, Premium Builders is one of the leading developers in the Chicago area. This family business headed by Lewis Korompilas treats every detail and nuance of design and decision with the utmost care. Since its inception, Premium Builders has continued to strive to push the boundaries of architecture and construction, as well as to be a productive leader in the community. Developments begin with an artist’s rendering. Many meetings of the team later, revision after revision, that rendering evolves into a home that offers not only practicality but finishes that rival projects anywhere in the city that are often at much higher price points.

Premium Builders began nearly two decades ago on the south side of Chicago owning rental properties. They soon discovered they had a passion for the rehabbing and revitalization of their buildings; modernizing condos while at the same time preserving the original architecture’s essence and overall charm. One rehab led to another and soon they were out of the rental business: since 1999 they have developed or built over 100 units throughout Chicago.

“We take a lot of pride in the details of our work,” says Korompilas, “and every development we design is unique, thoughtful and deliberate.”

To that end, five years ago Premium Builders couldn’t find anyone that would make the artisanal cabinetry to the degree of quality they desired. So they took matters into their own

hands—quite literally—and added a part of the company that is responsible for crafting handmade custom cabinetry. They are now able to finish units down to the very minutest of details, from kitchen cabinetry to the bathroom vanities, all in-house.

Amenities that one would typically find in much higher priced homes come standard with Premium Builder developments.

Premium Builders’ homes include wainscoting, coffered ceilings, high-end appliances, designer fixtures, hardwood floors, and marbled bathrooms.

Details may surprise: bathroom faucets and sinks inset in the walls, chrome finishes and stainless steel backsplashes.

The sheer amount of high quality detail is staggering. Adds Korompilas, “People often think that our standards are upgrades.”

Above all, Premium Builders has a stellar reputation for building affordable, luxury developments. Each year Premium Builders receives the Chicago Association of Realtors prestigious Good Neighbor Award, which showcases groundbreaking new constructions or redeveloped properties in the Chicago metropolitan region that have increased economic vibrancy in their neighborhoods and bolstered local pride.
