Jean is a former British diplomat who spent much of her life working for the British Government in Embassies and High Commissions overseas - Belgium, the Caribbean, China, East Berlin, Indonesia, Mauritius and Switzerland, including a spell as Deputy High Commissioner in Australia. She is the author of The Diplomatic Crime series of books - Deadly Diplomacy, Deadly Deceit and Missing in Shanghai - and her books are set in countries in which she has worked. Jean uses her considerable knowledge of inside government and behind the cloak of diplomacy to shape her fictional plots and characters.
