A much-loved community

Bromsgrove has played a key part in my life for many years. I worked at the Bromsgrove Advertiser as a reporter and sports editor for 13 years and was fortunate to cover Bromsgrove Rovers FC during the most successful period in their history.

When my former Advertiser colleague Michele Ford asked me to join the Completely Bromsgrove team as writer and sub editor, along with page designer and another ex-colleague Matt Walton, what else could I say but yes?

I’m proud of be part of this bighearted community magazine and to have witnessed at first hand its growth and burgeoning reputation in the district as a publication to trust and enjoy.

I was also honoured to pay tribute to my late Advertiser colleaguesand friends - Pete Lammas and Alan Wallcroft and to write about projects I’ve been involved in such as the tourism guide Welcome to Worcestershire. Let me tell you a story, which I’m sure Michele is happy for me to share. Just before the UK entered its first lockdown in March 2020.
