A School with excellent practice, equality, well-being & learning success at its heart
T
his year has been a difficult year for everyone, but at Chaddesley Corbett Primary School we have ensured that our ‘can do’ attitude has remained at the foremost and that children really are at the heart of everything we do. All through lock down we were open to children of key workers and as soon as schools opened to other year groups, we wanted to allow as many children as possible to benefit from our beautiful outdoor environment but in as safe a way as possible. As reception, Year 1 and Year 6 returned to school, we invited our other year groups in, once a week, for a socially distanced forest school session which parents reported was a lifesaver for their children, as weeks of home schooling had taken their toll on parents and children alike. Children were able to see their friends again and play purposefully, leaving their anxieties behind and enjoying positive experiences.
workbooks with key skills we want our children to achieve by the time they leave us. These skills are broad and balanced and develop useful lifelong resources that children will draw on throughout their future.
Our school has extensive outdoor facilities, with a sensory garden, two forest school areas, trim trails and outdoor cookery areas, gardening areas as well as an amphitheatre and an enormous field. We can really spread out!
