We are all friends when it comes to Charity Over the years, the Crochet Cruises have been more then just a classroom full of ‘hookers’, we have become amazing friends! We have laughed, cried, shared thoughts, and even expressed the need for help and help was there. These are what the cruises mean to us. ‘Being there’ and friends are about being there whenever they can be. Project Linus is exactly the same meaningful approach. This is why we asked that you do your favourite ‘FRIENDSHIP’ square before the cruise. Look at each square as a little bit of ourselves, the yarn, the pattern, and think that when we put these afghans together, a little bit of all of will be add to each blanket. A truly meaningful part of why we do what we do on these cruises. We will ask you to add your amazing squares on a pile for all to take part and enjoy on opening night. Step one, choose your squares, your theme, colour etc. Be different, don’t choose your own squares but choose others. We want each afghan to display the true heart of ALL of us working together for a common cause. A little bit of ALL our love. Recommended 9 squares of the same size. You can go larger with more squares if you wish. Let everyone get at least 9 squares first. Step two, you can choose your yarn. Please be mindful, JOANN.com has provided us a wonderful amount of ‘community yarn’ that we can all share. Choose one or two balls. Throughout the week, if you do not use the entire ball, you can add it back to the community stash for others to enjoy. You can either, continue with creating more fun with a border on each square or you can connect the squares as is whether that is sewing them together or discovering a whole new technique. Ask your neighbour, learn from each other. Never be afraid to ask. Be creative, we have brought some books for borders that you can sign out. If you are struggling with pattern reading, let us help you. Ask a neighbour. We have three classes devoted to Project Linus and the rest of the cruise to finish them at your own pace.
