Dear Friends,

We are about to embark upon a new program year – one that brings lots of excitement as well as challenges.

As this Program Guide becomes available to you, we will be winding down our summer camp operation and the MAR-JCC will become a bit less “frenetic” where we saw more than 1,300 different campers enjoy a Camp Sol Taplin summer experience. To accommodate the enrollment and scope of activity of our summer camp, we are grateful to the wonderful relationships that we have with our neighbors – Scheck Hillel Community School and Temple Sinai of North Dade, allowing us to utilize their rooms and facilities for our 8 week summer camp season.

For us, it is invigorating seeing this volume of activity and the positive impact that we make on the lives of our children, tweens, and teens by promoting socialization, Jewish values, learning, fun, and a connection to Israel and “Klal Yisrael.”

This Program Guide is a reflection of why this Michael-Ann Russell Jewish Community Center is a hub of Jewish communal life in Northeast Miami-Dade County. These program offerings reflect the most diverse in our 38 year history…with hundreds of programs, events, and activities from which to choose - for those as young as 2 months old all the way to 102 (and even older). The MAR-JCC will continue to be an inclusive institution offering a broad scope of programming that nourishes the mind, body, and spirit…where all segments of our community will feel warm and welcome.

While seeking to expand its offerings and maintain its 17 acre campus and facilities, the MAR-JCC’s lay leadership and staff are mindful of the fiduciary responsibility that we have to operate the MAR-JCC with fiscal responsibility.

New sources of revenue will continue to be sought after through grants, foundations, sponsorships, and contributions in order for us to meet the needs of a growing community. At the same time, our capital campaign remains in full gear so that we may fulfill our vision of the construction of the George Feldenkreis Cultural Arts and Education Center. Updates about the campaign will be provided to you as each week brings us closer and closer to meeting our campaign goal.

The strength of our MAR-JCC is dependent upon its outstanding staff and its dedicated lay leadership and volunteer corps. We encourage you, our valued members, to further your involvement with us by joining one of our many program and administrative committees. At the same time, our door and ears are open to your comments and suggestions so that we may continue our journey to be a Center of Excellence. Please do not hesitate to contact either of us to explore opportunities for involvement.

Membership Dues - Payment Options

1. Pay in full and save 5%.

2. Automatic monthly payment system based on a yearly contract. Automatic monthly payments are easy and secure.

Once enrolled, there is no lapse in membership UNLESS the Membership Office receives in writing a cancellation request at least 30 days prior to membership renewal date. Automatic monthly payment dues plus the processing fee of $3 will be processed for your convenience. There is a $20 declined credit card fee and a $35 returned check fee. Membership renewal month is set from the time of enrollment and will NOT be altered unless there has been a membership lapse of at least six months. At least one adult in household must sign the membership agreement/contract. Membership dues are NON-REFUNDABLE AND NONTRANSFERABLE and cover a minimum one-year period. Dues cannot be pro-rated.

Membership Cards/Parking Passes

Every member, 13 years and up, is required to carry a photo membership card. To facilitate entrance into the MAR-JCC, please present your membership card to the Front, Fitness, and Tennis desk receptionists. Though we make every effort to recognize our members, we ask everyone to carry his/her membership card at all times. If your membership card or parking pass is lost or stolen, please notify the Membership Services Department. A $10 fee will be charged for replacement cards and Parking Passes. Membership cards and Parking Passes are non-transferable and MAR-JCC membership may be revoked upon violation of MAR-JCC policies.

Parking

To expedite entry to the MAR-JCC, all members should have a valid MAR-JCC parking pass in the windshield of their cars (may be obtained at the Membership Services Office). An active All Access Card may be used to facilitate entry. The MARJCC reserves the right to tow (at driver’s/owner’s expense) or place a boot on any vehicle (removal charge of $50) parked in an unauthorized/undesignated area.

Use of the MAR-JCC

The MAR-JCC, a membership based organization, provides programs and services to both its membership and the communityat-large. The use of MAR-JCC facilities is primarily available to MAR-JCC members. Programs open to only MAR-JCC members are noted in the Program Guide and other promotional materials.

Guest Policy

All-Access Members are entitled to bring a guest up to three times a year at a fee of $15/adult and $5/senior or ”junior” (13 and under) for use of MAR-JCC Health & Wellness facilities. Guests must be accompanied by a member. Same nonmember guests may utilize the MAR-JCC up to three times per program year. Out-of-town guests who belong to another JCC outside the area receive complimentary guest privileges for up to two weeks per year upon presenting to the Membership Services Office a valid JCC membership card.

Class & Program Registration

•To receive priority registration and member rates on programs, membership must be in good standing for the duration of the program. If membership expires during the course of the program, members must either pay for the renewal at registration, or authorize a post-dated payment for the renewal.

•To be eligible to register, member accounts must be up-to-date. Payment must accompany all registrations for classes and programs.

•Associate and non-members may register for classes and programs when specified.

•No phone registration will be accepted. Registration will be accepted in person or by fax with completed registration form using Master Card, Visa, AMEX, or Discover, with registrar approval, as well as through on-line registration.

•There will be a $35 charge for returned checks and a $20 fee for declined credit cards.

•A registration will not be processed, a space will not be reserved in the class or program, and attendance will not be permitted until a signed registration form (accompanied by payment) is received.

•The MAR-JCC reserves the right to cancel any class or program due to insufficient registration and fees will be refunded.

•If enrichment program registration (i.e., classes and leagues) per semester totals an amount between $500 - $999, payment in two installments may be arranged; if the amount exceeds $1,000, payment in four installments may be arranged. A $10 processing fee beginning with the second installment will be assessed.

•If there is a change in your credit card information from that which the MAR-JCC has on file, please provide this information IN WRITING to the Membership Services Office.

Online Registration

It’s as easy as clicking a button! You may access the online registration from our website, at www.marjcc.org.

Members must set up an account and update all information so our records are accurate. Prior to registering, make sure your MAR-JCC membership is current through the session of the selected program. The system will recognize in which membership category you are registered and reflect the fee(s) for the program(s) accordingly. You may also review your transaction history, purchase tickets for some MAR-JCC shows, and make contributions.

Scholarship Assistance

The MAR-JCC offers fee assistance to qualified individuals and families. Extended payment plans are also available. All requests are handled confidentially. Visit the Membership Services Office, or call 305-932-4200 x145/146, for application.

Program Refunds

Will be awarded if request is made no later than the second week of class. Refund requests after this period of time must be addressed in writing to the MAR-JCC President/CEO explaining the extenuating circumstances for the request. Allow four weeks for refund checks. There is a processing fee of $35 per transaction for programs and $75 for Summer Camp. NO REFUNDS or CREDITS will be issued for programs requiring tryouts, e.g., sports travel teams and Bamachol dance troupes. Credits, if issued, expire 1 year from date of issue.

Payment for Private Lessons/Personal Training

Per MAR-JCC policy and for insurance purposes, payment arrangements for all personal training and private lessons at the MARJCC must be processed through a MAR-JCC registrar. MAR-JCC membership is required. Only approved personnel and independent contractors employed by the MAR-JCC are eligible to provide personal training and private instruction.

"Outside Professionals" Use of the MAR-JCC

No outside trainers, teachers, coaches, tutors, therapists, pros, etc., may use the MAR-JCC for professional purposes even in the company of and with the permission of a MAR-JCC member, without written authorization from the MAR-JCC President/CEO. "Outside Professionals" receiving said authorization must comply with all insurance requirements and provide all required documentation.

The MAR-JCC is not liable for the theft, loss, or damage to any personal belongings or property. It is recommended not to store any valuables in parked vehicles or unlocked lockers. You may bring a lock to secure your belongings in a “daily locker” in our locker room facilities, Scheck Family Gymnasium, or by the Program Building. The lock must be removed by the end of each day or it will be removed by MAR-JCC staff. Permanent lockers in the men’s and women’s locker rooms are available annually for $65. Visit the Membership Services Office, or call ext. 145/146.

Security

Security and safety are our highest priority. The MAR-JCC reserves the right to check trunks and vehicles for security purposes. It also reserves the right to check backpacks, lunch boxes, etc., along with other types of sealed or closed containers without prior notice.

No weapons are permitted on campus. Among the permanent security systems at the MAR-JCC are: •Security gates and guards • Entry to various MAR-JCC facilities only with membership card activation • Surveillance cameras, recording systems, and monitors at strategic places throughout the buildings and outdoor areas • Signage that will alert all visitors that the premises are under surveillance • Emergency alarms that are directly connected to law enforcement authorities • A photo I.D. is required to enter the MAR-JCC - access to the MAR-JCC may be denied if appropriate I.D. is not presented.

The overall effect is a high level of security that prompts quick action in the event of any signs of danger.

Privacy

The MAR-JCC will not provide any account information, expenses, registration records, participation in activities, and any other information to anyone other than its member of record, regardless of relationship/marital status.

Car Pool Dismissal

To expedite the exiting of cars at school/camp dismissal (as well as entry to the MAR-JCC), please follow directions of Security and MAR-JCC personnel, and only make a right hand turn onto NE 25th Avenue during car pool hours.

Campus Speed Limit

For your safety and the safety of others, we ask that you observe a campus speed limit of 5 mph.

Unattended Vehicles

No unattended vehicle may be left with its engine running anywhere on the MAR-JCC premises. For all our safety, turn off your ignition when leaving your vehicle.

Bullying

The MAR-JCC is a meeting place that promotes friendship, belonging, and camaraderie. MAR-JCC members, guests, and staff are expected to treat one another with respect and dignity and no form of bullying will be tolerated. Any act of bullying should be brought to the attention of MAR-JCC staff and may result in either suspension from the MAR-JCC or termination of membership.

Unsportsmanlike Conduct

Unsportsmanlike conduct by participants or by spectators or coaches will not be tolerated, and may be cause for “ejection” from the campus, suspension from the MAR-JCC, or termination of membership.

Suspension/Termination

The MAR-JCC reserves the right to remove a participant/family/member from any program or activity or general use of the facility at any time it is believed by the MAR-JCC to be in the best interest of the MAR-JCC community as a whole. In the event said action is taken, no refunds will be given for any unused part or portion of the program, class, or activity.

Cell Phones/Texting

Cell phones may not be used in any MAR-JCC bathroom or locker room facility and when operating a vehicle on campus.

Texting while driving is strictly prohibited.

Shabbat

In recognition of the significance of Shabbat, the MAR-JCC encourages its members to use its facilities for relaxation and family interaction. Sports and fitness facilities are open Saturday, from 1-6 pm. Business/Membership Services Offices are closed.

Holidays

Operating hours and openings/closings may vary in observance of Jewish and national holidays. Please refer to the “Important Dates” on page 2 or check out our website - www.marjcc.org

Kashrut/Food Service

All food provided and used within the MAR-JCC must be (Glatt) kosher. Food service must be provided by the MAR-JCC’s in-house Glatt kosher food service purveyor, Kosher Subway, Inc. To accommodate its members and guests, there are two restaurants at the MAR-JCC - Kosher Subway and Elsie’s Cafe´. For info, call Maurice Lichy, at 305-778-5946, or Antonio Lama, at 305-915-9642.

Room & Party Rental

The MAR-JCC offers its rooms and various facilities for rent for parties (to members and associate members), reunions, and business meetings. Food service must be provided by the MAR-JCC’s in-house Glatt kosher food service provider. For bookings and more information, call ext. 103/195.

Caring for our JCC...and our environment

As part of our responsibility to care for the environment, please dispose recyclable cans, bottles, and paper in recycle bins located throughout the campus. Please use these containers for recyclables, not for garbage. We ask all members and guests to use trash receptacles to dispose of their garbage so that we may present a clean & welcoming ambience.

Non-Smoking Zone

The MAR-JCC is a non-smoking facility. Please refrain from smoking at the MAR-JCC at all times.

Staff will ask smokers to extinguish their cigarettes.

No Pets

As a licensed child care facility concerned about hygienics combined with a sensitivity to those with allergies and fear of animals, pets are not permitted at the MAR-JCC.

Gift Certificates, Gift Cards, & Tribute Cards

MAR-JCC gift certificates are available for any amount, and may be purchased for membership, fitness, and tennis. Call the Membership Services Office for information at ext. 145/146. Gift cards may be purchased for Kosher Subway and Elsie’s Cafe directly from these restaurants.

If you wish to acknowledge a birthday or other simcha, extend condolences, or send holiday greetings, you may purchase a Tribute Card for $18. An acknowledgement of your tax deductible contribution will be mailed to that particular individual/family-call Iris Kohn, at 305-932-4200 x141.

Hurricane Preparation Procedures Call 305-932-4200 for hurricane closing updates

In the event that we are confronted with the threat/impact of a tropical weather system, the MAR-JCC will follow (in most instances) the recommendations of Miami/Dade’s Public School System. When school is not in session, directives issued by Miami-Dade County will be followed (in most instances). If a decision to close is made, the MAR-JCC will notify local TV and Radio stations (e.g., NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX News, WIOD News Radio, MAGIC 102, WHQT HOT 105, WLRN) to include in public service announcements.

Mitzvah Fund - Bar/Bat Mitzvah children perform a Mitzvah by giving a portion of their gifts to the Mitzvah Fund and by

inspiring their parents and grandparents to match their gift. Gifts to The Mitzvah Fund go directly to support our Special Needs programs and the Scholarship Fund.

The Bamachol Chai Society - In order to provide valuable scholarship funds to dancers who otherwise would not be

able to attend our dance classes, the Bamachol Chai Society was established - an exclusive group limited to 18 families who contribute $3,000 a year to this cause (payable in 10 payments of $300 a month). Bamachol Chai Society Members receive preferred VIP seating for all Bamachol dance performances.

The Habimah Society Fund - Knowing that a theatre program cannot be sustained by ticket sales alone, contributions

Named Endowment Funds* - Named Endowment Funds are established by donors to benefit a MAR-JCC department, program or service of particular importance to them. Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten (Ages 3 & 4 years old & turned 5 after 9/1/15) Children learn math, science, writing, reading, art, manipulatives, library, language, and housekeeping/life skills using the model of the Creative Curriculum for Preschool. Commitment & Attendance The study of Performing Arts requires a commitment and a love for the respective art. In most of our classes, students are required to make a full-year’s commitment, as the program is progressive and depends on weekly development and assessment. Therefore, our attendance requirements are as follows. (With exception for valid medical reasons): Semester Classes: More than two absences, the student may be asked not to be in a portion or a whole

choreography in future performance(s). Position(s) will be directly affected by attendance.

A student that is dismissed from class more than twice, will be asked to leave the program indefinitely, with no refund of fees.

General No jewelry, gum, or snacks are permitted in any class.

Dance students must attend classes with their hair brushed neatly back in a ponytail or chinion (bun).

Participants understand that classes may be photographed/videotaped and the Bamachol Dance Program reserves the right to use photos/videos for program publicity.

HaZAMIR CHORAL MIAMI

Open to Jewish teens, grades 8 - 12

ZAMIR, promotes Jewish choral music as a vehicle to inspire Jewish life, culture, and continuity.

It is a Zionist musical youth movement that provides a unique opportunity for Jewish teens from all denominations and backgrounds to sing (and perform) high level Jewish choral music in a fun, social environment.

The newly formed HaZAMIR MIAMI will be one of 31 chapters throughout the United States and Israel that will meet weekly to learn a common repertoire, which will be performed at regional, national, and international events. A culminating gala performance in which HaZAMIR MIAMI will be represented, will be held on Sunday, April 3, in New York’s Carnegie Hall.

MEET Alan Mason, conductor of ZAMIR MIAMI

Alan has a BA and Masters of Music from the Manhattan School of Music. A renowned pianist, Alan is a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Miami and was an Associate Professor of Music at Barry University, from where he recently retired. He remains the Director of Music at Temple Israel of Greater Miami, a position that he has held for 24 years. Alan was honored to play for Pope Benedict XVI, at the Vatican, in the first concert of Sacred Jewish Music ever presented there.

The Israel Programs and Resource Center’s primary focus is to strengthen the ties that connect MiamiDade Jewry with the People and Culture of Israel. It is under the full-time direction of a Community Shlicha (cultural emissary from Israel), who works with the MAR-JCC staff to incorporate Israel programming into their menu of activity, works with Hebraica’s Maccabi Tzair Youth Movement by training its staff/madrichim and introducing new activities and programs that are Israel/Jewish educationally based, develops Israel educational travel programs – tailoring them to a specific group’s needs, updates community groups about Israel in today’s geo-political world, develops partnerships with other Jewish organizations and agencies in the development of community-oriented programs, and presents programs featuring guest speakers from Israel along with performing artists.

Story-Time…in Hebrew

A monthly interactive program for families with early childhood age children, beginning at age 2, designed for Hebrew speakers or those looking to improve upon their Hebrew language skills.

Includes story-time, activities related to the story, and opportunities for socialization. A collaborative effort of the IAC, the Bayit Yisraeli of the Consulate General of Israel, Sifriyat Pajama, and the MARJCC’s Israel Programs Department.

Meets once a month, on Sunday mornings, 10:30am – noon…beginning in October.

Family Sukkot Get-Together • Sunday, October 4, 10:30am-12:30pm

Celebrate the holiday of Sukkot (along with Simchat Torah, which begins the following evening) with interactive activities, arts and crafts, music, dance, story-telling, and more…in the MAR-JCC sukkah. Open to the community at no charge.

Rabin Memorial Ceremony

Two programs have been developed to mark the 20th anniversary of the death of Israel’s Prime Minister, Yitzhak Rabin, whose life and peace-making efforts were dramatically cut short by an assassin’s bullet.

•Sunday, October 25, 7pm

A community observance that, on this day on the Jewish calendar, marks the 20th anniversary of Rabin’s death. The program will be in English and Hebrew, and will capture Rabin’s hope for SHALOM through song and creative readings.

Developed in conjunction with the Israeli House of the Consulate General of Israel and the Israel American Council.

•Wednesday, November 4, 6pm

A memorial program, on this day of the secular calendar, that marks the assassination of Prime Minister Rabin. Coinciding with the regularly scheduled meeting of Hebraica’s School of Madrichim Leadership Development Program, the ceremony will be lead by participants of the School of Madrichim and designed to educate its audience about Rabin’s life and the impact of his murder on Israel’s democratic society and the world. A traveling exhibit about Rabin and his life will be set-up on this day and guest educators accompanying the exhibit will engage viewers about Rabin’s life and consequences of his death.

Community Chanuka Celebration • Monday, December 7, Begins 5:30pm

Light the second candle of the Chanuka menorah with us…that includes a fun-filled evening of music featuring the music of the T’kiya Klezmer Band; special activities for the kids including arts and crafts, Israeli dance, and Chanuka bingo; and complimentary “levivot” and “soofganiyot.” Sponsored in part by Levitt Weinstein and Beth David Memorial Chapels and Cemetaries.

Chanuka “on the Oleta” • Saturday, December 12 • Begins 5:30pm

Israeli Cinema Nights

Contemporary Israeli film is brought to the big screen, providing a glimpse into Israeli society and culture. Films are in Hebrew with English subtitles. Watch for announcements.

The Rabbi Norman Mussman Cultural Arts Department presents quality cultural arts programming for all ages and seeks to maximize opportunities for all segments of our community to enjoy theatre performances, concerts, films, book reviews, and Jewish educational lectures and seminars.

Alan and Diane Lieberman Children’s Cultural Arts Series

Having completed its 19th season of outstanding theatre productions designed to educate and entertain young audiences, the Alan & Diane Lieberman Children’s Cultural Arts Series (CCAS) will once again provide children, grades PreK 4 – grade 6, a quality cultural arts experience by professional touring theatre companies. The Series, offered as school field trips, is free of charge, thus ensuring that all segments of the North Miami-Dade community may be given the opportunity to participate in this culturally enriching program.

Prior to attending, all schools receive a Study Guide to enable teachers to prepare their students for their theater experience. Where shows are adapted to the stage from a popular children’s book, each class attending receives a copy of the book to also prepare them for the show they are about to see, as well as to promote the importance of reading and literacy.

The CCAS continues to be made possible through the generosity of community leaders and philanthropists, Alan and Diane Lieberman, whose names have been associated with the Series since its inception, along “with the support of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners.”

Schools attending the 2014/15 CCAS included: Brentwood Elementary, Bunche Elementary, Gratigny Elementary, Hochberg Prep, Jacobson Sinai Academy, Michael-Ann Russell JCC Pre-School, North Miami Elementary, Ojus Elementary, Palm Springs Elementary, Parkway Elementary, Robert Ingram Elementary, and Sabal Palm Elementary.

Meet The Author Jewish Book Series

A free Series presented by the MAR-JCC in partnership with Sponsoring Organizations including (at press time) Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center, Beth Torah Benny Rok Campus, Jewish Community Relations Council, Jewish Community Services of South Florida, and Temple Sinai of North Dade. JCAT is the educational theatre arm of the MAR-JCC, a year-round program for youth, teens, and adults, where participants are initiated into the magical world of theatre through a full season of productions, theatre camps, and a wide range of classes and workshops in acting, improvisation, and technical theatre. JCAT productions may include both adult and youth performers, as the play requires. JCAT Youth production auditions are open to students, grades 4-12.

The “Quality of Life” – Senior Wellness Program (TQOL) Chair: Carol Kaufman

TQOL is funded by the State of Florida through the Alliance for Aging, by Miami-Dade County, by the United Way of Miami-Dade, and by the Health Foundation of South Florida. TQOL uses fitness and exercise training to improve the ability of senior adults to perform necessary activities of daily living and utilizes social events and educational programs to enhance and promote each participant's emotional wellness. Students will first be introduced to rolling on wheels on flat land with a scooter and will develop into expert longboard skateboarders. About Our Pools

•Indoor Pool: Heated 25-yard swimming pool. The temperature is maintained between 84-86 degrees •Heated Outdoor Pool: Lap swimming is available all year-round except during Camp Sol Taplin summer operating hours •Lap Swimming Policy: If needed, swimmers may share lap lanes. Lifeguards will place swimmers together with similar abilities. Kids Swimming Class Descriptions

Water Bonding (Parent & Child Level 1) • Ages 3-30 months

A high-energy, fun-filled class where you will play games and sing songs, so that your baby will associate the pool with a fun experience in a friendly environment with a parent. Class will improve baby’s physical and cognitive development!

Guppies • Ages 30 months-3 years

For the brave and daring toddler who can play in the class with or without a parent. The child has successfully gained enough strength and coordination to independently take a breath and has good communication skills. Must have previously participated in at least 3 seasons of our Swim Gym programs.

Tumbling Minnows • Ages 3 & 4 years

At this age, children are able to swim independently. Students are exposed to essential safety skills; jumping, diving, dog paddling, floating, swimming to the bottom, and swimming on back. They love to show their “dolphin,” “alligator,” “shark,” and “froggy” styles.

Acrobatic Sharks • Ages 5 & 6 years

Children learn safety and fun skills, as well as real styles like racers. Children learn to love swimming by way of fun games in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly.

Soarin’ Dolphins • Ages 7-10 years

Swimmers will advance significantly in their diving, freestyle, backstroke, and turning techniques. All are taught breast stroke and butterfly, and students advancing beyond beginner and intermediate levels will move to Strokin’ Seals.

Strokin’ Seals • Ages 8 years & up

Refinement of stroke technique will be taught, as swimmers advance significantly in diving, freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and turning techniques. Classes are adapted for beginner, intermediate, and advanced swimmers. Registration predicated on prior enrollment in Soarin’ Dolphins/tryouts required or by invitation.

Competitive Travel Swim Team, Young Travel Team, and Pre Team • Ages 8 & up • Tryouts required

This is a USA Swimming affiliated Club Team. Swimmers must all be USA registered, as this is a competitive travel team.

Swimmers must participate in all “day @ the races” and meets.

Coached by Ricardo Monasterio: Pan-American Champion in the 400 & 1,500 meter freestyle and 4-time medalist in the Pan-American Games, and is a two-time world Masters Champion.

Swim Fit • 9 years & up

Cross Training and Fitness meet the water. This program is designed to develop overall fitness and coordination in an upbeat, fun, noncompetitive class that will encourage participants to continue leading an active & healthy lifestyle.

Kids Triathlon/I Tri-Train • 8 years & up

The fastest growing sport in the world today is Triathlon. This program will allow your child the opportunity to experience what everyone is talking about!

I Water Polo • 9 years & up

Do you like scoring goals? Join the ultimate team game. This program requires a combination of skills influenced by soccer, basketball, hockey, and swimming.

Synchronized Swimming • 7 years & up

Gymnastics and dancing join together in the water for a fun-filled, acrobatic class with Coach Larissa.

Aquatics Department Registration Procedures and Refund Policy

No prorating or refunding of fees. Registration must be completed prior to the first day of class. Please be prepared to present your receipt to the Aquatics office. We may close or change a scheduled group class if less than 3 registered. Non-swimmers are recommended to register for private or semi-private lessons if they have not had any or have had bad experiences in the water.

Children under 3 years old, enter the water with a parent. If your child is going to miss a class/lesson, please notify the Aquatics Office 12 hours in advance, otherwise it is a lost class. Make-up classes only during the session in another class of the same level.

Kinder Gym: Open to boys and girls, builds a strong basic understanding of gymnastics skills, self-awareness, strength building, and improving coordination. Age appropriate apparatus is incorporated to provide a safe and fun instructional environment.

Developmental Gymnastics (Children divided into skill appropriate levels): An introduction to a full spectrum of gymnastics through the use of fundamental skills on all apparatus including vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise.

Progression of skills and strength follow the guidelines set by USA Gymnastics.

Pre-Team/all ages (by invitation only): Designed for the advanced gymnast. This is a preparatory program for advancement onto our Travel Team.

AAU and USAG competitive teams (by invitation only) are principally geared to athletes who have been involved in the sport and display the skills necessary to participate in the team experience. There are 10 competitive levels to the team program.

Levels 1-5 are compulsory and require the gymnast to perform the same routines that are evaluated based on the USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic compulsory program.

Levels Excel through 10 are optional levels in which the routines are designed and choreographed to the individual athlete’s ability based on specific level requirements. Competitions at this level are designed to be low pressure with an emphasis on creating a positive experience for each child.

Every child will be placed in his/her age group and level. Younger students are taught the USTA Quick Start Tennis Program. USTA tennis leagues and tournaments are offered to students of all ages. Our Certified Tennis Professionals give children an introduction to tennis and help them achieve their maximum potential. Each child will receive a t-shirt after registration.

•Any child who is enrolled during early registration will receive a t-shirt and a free 1/2 hour tennis lesson!
