USE OF THE MARJCC The MARJCC, a membership-based organization, provides programs and services to both its membership and the community-at-large. Programs open only to MARJCC members are noted in the Program Guide and other promotional materials.

COVID-19 GUIDELINES During these unprecedented times, the following MARJCC Guidelines relative to COVID-19 supersede the standard MARJCC guidelines detailed below: • Parent Drop-off/Pick-up:

Parents are asked not to remain in the building when dropping off children ages seven and older.

• Temperature Checks:

Members and guests are required to have temperatures taken using a noninvasive thermal scanning thermometer before entering the JCC. Per CDC guidelines, individuals with a body temperature higher than 100.4° will not be permitted to enter the facility.

• Health Declaration:

Members and guests are required to sign a one-time mandatory Health Declaration waiver confirming they are neither experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 nor have come in contact with someone who is experiencing symptoms.

• Zoom Class Policy:

Please refer to your program section.

• Face masks:

Members, guests, and staff are required to wear a face mask at all times.

MEMBERSHIP CARDS Every member, ages 12 and older, is required to carry a MARJCC photo membership card. To facilitate entry into the building, please present your membership card or government-issued ID to the Welcome Desk or Tennis Desk staff member. Though we make every effort to recognize our members, we ask everyone to carry his/her membership card at all times. If your membership card is lost or stolen, please notify Membership Services to prevent unauthorized use of the card. A $10 fee will be charged for the replacement membership card. Membership cards are non-transferable, and MARJCC membership may be revoked upon violation of MARJCC policies.

GUEST POLICY Once guests are permitted to use MARJCC facilities, the Welcome Desk will collect guest access fees to the Feldenkreis-Feig-Hanono Athletic Field, Fitness Center, Scheck Family Gymnasium, and Edith & Saul Schmidt Aquatic Center. When playing tennis, these fees will be collected at the Soffer Family Tennis Center.

All guests must check-in with a government-issued picture ID and pay each time they visit. All guests will sign a waiver to be kept on file. There is no maximum number of guest visits as long as the guest presents a valid ID every visit, signs a waiver, and pays the guest fee. Guests must abide by all MARJCC rules and policies.

Age 13 and under Ages 14–69 Age 70+

Out-of-town guests who belong to another JCC outside of Miami-Dade or Broward Counties receive complimentary guest privileges for up to two weeks per year upon presenting their valid JCC membership card to the Membership Services staff. MARJCC members are eligible to receive two complimentary guest passes per year.

PETS As a licensed childcare facility concerned about hygiene with sensitivity for those who suffer from allergies or a fear of animals, pets are not permitted at the MARJCC, with the exception of service animals.

PARKING All members are encouraged to provide their Sun Pass number to the Membership Office to expedite entry into the MARJCC using the “member lane.” An active and current MARJCC membership is required.

The MARJCC reserves the right to tow—at the driver’s expense—any vehicle parked in an unauthorized/undesignated area. Parking privileges are extended only to MARJCC constituents attending activities at the MARJCC. UNATTENDED VEHICLES No vehicle may be left unattended and with the engine running anywhere on the MARJCC premises. The MARJCC is not responsible for any damage or theft to your vehicle. Only authorized vehicles may remain on campus overnight.

CAMPUS SPEED LIMIT Please observe the campus speed limit of 5 mph.

SECURITY The safety and security of our members and guests remain our highest priorities at the MARJCC. Trunks and vehicles may be searched by staff for security purposes. MARJCC also reserves the right to search backpacks, lunch boxes, and other types of sealed or closed containers without prior notice. No weapons are permitted on campus unless authorized by the MARJCC. A photo ID is required to enter the MARJCC—access to the MARJCC may be denied if an appropriate ID is not available. Our goal is to ensure a high level of security that prompts quick action in the event of any sign of danger. The MARJCC reserves the right to deny access to any person at any time.

PERSONAL BELONGINGS/LOCKERS Permanent lockers in the men’s and women’s locker rooms are available for an annual fee of $65, please see Membership Services for more information.

The MARJCC is not liable for the theft, loss or damage to any personal belongings or property. Do not store any valuables in parked vehicles or lockers. You may bring a lock to secure your belongings in a “daily locker.” The lock must be removed by the end of each day, or MARJCC staff will remove it.

BULLYING The MARJCC reserves the right to remove a participant/family member from any program or activity or general use of the facility at any time. No refunds will be given for any unused portion of the program, class, or activity.

UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT Unsportsmanlike conduct by participants, coaches, or spectators will not be tolerated and may be cause for “ejection” from the campus, suspension from the MARJCC, or termination of membership.

CELL PHONES/TEXTING Cell phones may not be used in any MARJCC bathroom or locker room facilities, or when operating a vehicle on campus—texting while driving is strictly prohibited.

SUSPENSION/REVOCATION OF MEMBERSHIP The MARJCC reserves the right to remove a participant/family member from any program or activity or general use of the facility at any time. No refunds will be given for any unused part or portion of the program, class, or activity.

CLASS AND PROGRAM REGISTRATION • To be eligible to register, member accounts must be current. Payment must accompany all registrations for classes and programs.

• To receive priority registration and member rates on programs, membership must be in good standing for the duration of the program. If membership expires during the course of the program, members must either pay for the renewal at registration or authorize a post-dated payment for the renewal.

• Non-members may register for classes and programs where indicated.

• Registration will be accepted online or in-person with completed registration form using Master Card, Visa, AMEX or Discover, with registrar approval. The MARJCC does not accept registration over the telephone.

• A $35 fee will be assessed for returned checks and a $20 fee for declined credit cards.

• A signed registration form accompanied by payment is required to reserve a space in a class or program. Enrollment in a program or activity will not be processed if a payment is declined.

Ongoing programs require an updated payment plan for the program year.

• The MARJCC reserves the right to cancel any class or program due to insufficient registration. The payment will be refunded.

• If the total cost for an enrichment program registration is between $500 - $999, two payment installments may be scheduled. If the total cost exceeds $1,000, four payment installments may be scheduled. A $10 processing fee will be assessed beginning with the second installment.

• If there is a change in your credit card information; please provide this information, IN WRITING, to the Membership Services office.

ONLINE REGISTRATION You may access online registration from our website, www.marjcc.org. Members must set up an account and update all information to register online.

Before registering, please make sure your MARJCC membership is current through the session of the selected program. Our member software will recognize your membership category and reflect the fee(s) for the program(s) accordingly. You may also review your transaction history, purchase tickets for many MARJCC shows, and make donations. Please note that online registration will not allow for sibling discounts or create installment plans. Please contact the Membership Services office for assistance with these transactions and any other registration functions that cannot be completed online.

PROGRAM REFUNDS To receive a full program refund, you must submit a written request no later than the first week of class. After this period, refund requests will be issued as a credit on your MARJCC account after prorating the attended classes and deducting a processing fee. Refunds or credits are not applicable to all programs.

There is a processing fee of $35 per transaction for programs and $75 per transaction for Summer Camp. NO REFUNDS or CREDITS will be issued for programs requiring tryouts and “Annual Programs,” after the first session is complete. Credits, if issued, expire one year from the date of issue. No refunds will be granted for weather-related cancellations. Makeup dates, whenever possible, will be scheduled.

PAYMENT FOR PRIVATE LESSONS/PERSONAL TRAINING Per MARJCC policy and insurance purposes, payment arrangements for all personal training and private lessons at the MARJCC must be processed through the Membership Services office. MARJCC membership is required. Only approved personnel and independent contractors employed by the MARJCC are eligible to provide personal training and private instruction.

SCHOLARSHIP ASSISTANCE The MARJCC offers fee assistance to qualified individuals and families. Extended payment plans are also available. Visit the Membership Services office, or call 305.932.4200 x425, to request an application. All requests are handled confidentially.

NON-SMOKING FACILITY The MARJCC is a non-smoking facility. Please refrain from smoking or vaping on the MARJCC campus or inside any of the facilities at all times.

FACILITY ETIQUETTE Out of respect for MARJCC property, comfort, and the safety of others, the use of skateboards, rollerblades, and hoverboards are strictly prohibited inside the buildings. Similarly, proper attire—including shirts and shoes— should be worn at all times.

“OUTSIDE PROFESSIONALS” USE OF THE MARJCC Trainers, teachers, coaches, tutors, or therapists who are not employees of the JCC may use the MARJCC for professional purposes—even while in the company of and with the permission of a MARJCC member—without written authorization from the MARJCC Chief Executive Officer. “Outside Professionals” receiving authorization must comply with all insurance requirements and provide all required documentation.

PRIVACY The MARJCC will not provide any personal information, expenses, registration records, or the participation of its member of record to any other individual, regardless of relationship/marital status, unless required by a court order.

HOLIDAYS Hours of operation may vary in observance of Jewish and national Federal holidays. Please refer to the Important Dates section of the Program Guide for additional information.

KASHRUT/FOOD SERVICE All food provided and used within the MARJCC must be Kosher.

GIFT CERTIFICATES, GIFT CARDS, AND TRIBUTE CARDS MARJCC gift certificates are available in any increment and may be used toward membership, fitness, and tennis. Contact the Membership Services office for additional information at 305.932.4200 x425. Gift cards may be purchased for Kosher Subway and Elsie’s Cafe directly from these restaurants. If you wish to acknowledge a birthday or other simcha, extend condolences, or send holiday greetings, you may purchase a Tribute Card for $18. An acknowledgment of your tax-deductible contribution will be sent to the individual or family.

HURRICANE PREPARATION PROCEDURES Please call 305.932.4200 for hurricane closing updates. If encountering the threat/impact of a tropical weather system, the MARJCC generally follows the recommendations of Miami-Dade County Public Schools. When school is not in session, directives issued by Miami-Dade County will be adhered to in most instances. If the decision to close is made, the MARJCC will provide all relevant information to local television and radio stations for inclusion in public service announcements.

After-School Program Our After-School Program provides a safe and nurturing environment where your child can continue to learn and grow while staying active and engaged during non-school hours. The program features indoor and outdoor activities, including sports, games and art and crafts, exciting Jewish holiday and pre-Shabbat programs, and homework assistance. Transportation to the MARJCC is available from area public and private schools, and a supervised walk-over is available from Scheck Hillel Community School, BridgePrep Academy of NMB, and Ojus Elementary. Daily snack provided. Open to MARJCC members only.

Bus Transportation/Walk-Over Options Included This fully-structured program includes supervised pick-up from school including early dismissal days and transportation to MARJCC, homework assistance, Judaic programming, daily indoor and outdoor activities with ASP counselors and specialists, an escort to and from enrichment classes, and exciting Jewish holiday and pre-Shabbat programs. AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM

Scheck Hillel Community School Monday–Thursday at 3:45 pm, Friday at 2 p.m.

Should the MARJCC close and the After-School Program not be offered, the following credit will be applied to your account: A credit will be issued to your account for the period between the day the MARJCC closes and the end of the current month.

Monthly payments will be paused for the period that the ASP remains closed, starting on the first day of the month following the closure. However, monthly membership dues will continue to be charged. Once ASP reopens, the JCC will automatically begin charging your account each month from reopening day until the end of the school year.

Introducing J-DAY | Grades K-6 A safe and supportive environment when your child cannot be in school.

Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Options include 2, 3, 4, or 5 days per week.

J-Day is a supervised program developed to assist kids with online learning and homework up to five days a week.

- Staff support your child’s school needs, including Zoom classes and homework assistance.

- A wide array of enrichment classes integrated into the daily program, including swimming, art, dance, and sports.

- Small-group setting ensures social distancing and strict adherence to CDC guidelines. $60 daily rate for MARJCC members.

- A minimum commitment of two consecutive weeks is required.

- Registration must be completed by the Thursday of the prior week at noon.

- In the event of program cancellation or delayed start due to COVID-19, a prorated credit will be applied to your account.

- Children required to isolate due to COVID-19 exposure are eligible for a prorated credit for the days that they are unable to attend less a $35 processing fee. *A 20% discount will be offered to members participating in J-Day and ASP at the same time.

hebraica Hebraica emphasizes the importance of promoting Jewish identity, values, a love of Israel, family and community. With the goal of ensuring Jewish continuity, Hebraica reaches out to all segments of our diverse community through ongoing programs for children, tweens, teens, and college-age young adults, including holiday celebrations, family activities, and community events.

Maccabi Tzair Miami, a branch of Maccabi World Union, is a youth movement for the Jewish community that engages youth in activities that promote Jewish identity, a connection to the People and Land of Israel, and socialization.

Madrichim (leaders) in our youth movements are graduates of our leadership development program, School of Madrichim, who have been trained to conduct social, cultural, educational, and recreational activities with their Chanichim (group members) through varied peulot (activities), family activities, and community events.

MACCABI TZAIR MIAMI

TZAIR | Grades K–5 Coordinator I Moises Benzaquen Saturday $450 Members | $625 Non-Members Our youth (chanichim) meet weekly with their peers and group leaders (madrichim), engaging in activities revolving around Jewish identity, the People and Land of Israel, socialization, global awareness, mitzvah projects, field trips, a sleepover, and a campout (machane) for an additional fee.

TZAIR UPCOMING EVENTS Shabbaton (Date TBD) This event aims to unite individual groups with their peers (chanichim) and their madrichim. The Shabbaton takes place at the MARJCC and features activities organized by the madrichim and the Hanaga (Board of Directors). We provide a snack, Shabbat dinner, and breakfast.

Kindergarten and 1st Grade 2nd–5th Grade

NOAR | Grades 6–8 Coordinator I Tomas Glasermann Saturday $450 Members | $625 Non-Members This program is designed for tweens to enjoy activities that promote Jewish tradition intending to build a circle of friends who care for their community. The program includes field trips, mitzvah projects, an overnight survival camp, and more!

Please note machanot and field trips are an additional fee.

NOAR UPCOMING EVENTS Shabbaton (Date TBD) This event is an incredible experience that should not be missed! The Shabbaton takes place at the MARJCC and features activities that promote teamwork and an introduction to the theme of Tikun Olam. The Shabbaton ends with a field trip to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, where we continue sharing and getting to know each other.

Mexico Trip (January 15–18, 2021) This four-day trip offers a unique experience to chanichim in the 8th grade. Along with the Cadena Foundation, participants have the opportunity to connect with a third world low-income community in Mexico. The aim is to positively impact all participants by understanding the importance of Tikun Olam and Tzedaka—core values of Judaism.

Goals include creating awareness for the importance of helping others, continuity upon return from the trip, and realizing it’s not just a trip, it’s a way of life.

HEBRAICA

Noar Machanot (For an additional fee) Tzahal (Date TBD) This overnight machane offers 6th graders a unique experience designed to build teamwork and leadership. The goal is to bring participants closer to the Jewish community. Activities include army intelligence skills, kayaking, and exploring all the three parts of the IDF–army, navy, and air force. Participants are taken out of their comfort zone with outdoor tasks and challenges in a safe and secure environment.

Survivor (Date TBD) Survivor offers 7th graders an unforgettable experience designed to build teamwork and leadership. The goal of this 3-day machane is to bring participants closer to the Jewish community. Participants are will be taken out of their comfort zone to experience outdoor tasks and taught how to SURVIVE with the least amount of materials, and do so in a safe and secure environment.

Atlantis (Date TBD) Atlantis offers 8th graders an unforgettable experience designed to build teamwork and leadership. The goal of this machane is to bring participants closer to the Jewish community. Activities include a scavenger hunt, treasure hunt, kayaking, Olympic-style games, and more! Participants are taken out of their comfort zone and experience outdoor tasks and challenges in a safe and secure environment.

PRE-SCHOOL OF MADRICHIM UPCOMING EVENTS Halloween Horror Night (Date TBD) (For an additional fee) Halloween Horror Night is a Pre-School of Madrichim Shabbaton weekend retreat for 9th grade registered participants of our leadership program. During this Shabbaton, participants explore what is required to be a Madrich—a Jewish community leader. Team building activities are taught through the Shabbaton, culminating with a fun and cohesive field trip to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios in Orlando.

Machane Maccabi (Date TBA) (For an additional fee) A Shabbaton weekend retreat for 9th and 10th grade Pre-SOM and SOM participants. The purpose of this trip is to concentrate on introducing the concept of what it means to be a part of a Jewish youth movement and the benefits they will reap in the future. We close the Machane by providing a clear concept of what it truly means to be part of Maccabi Tzair.

PRE-SOM Costa Rica Trip Summer of 2021 (For an additional fee) The Pre-SOM Costa Rica trip is for 9th grade participants of the Pre-School of Madrichim. During this one-week trip, participants enjoy an adventurous and educational trip, including waterfall rappelling, horseback riding, hot springs, beaches and the opportunity to do Tikun Olam and “give back” to the Costa Rican community. During this trip, Maccabi Tzair San Diego and Maccabi Tzair Fort Lauderdale join Maccabi Tzair Miami for one week of leadership, adventure and networking. We also visit the Jewish community in Costa Rica.

SCHOOL OF MADRICHIM | Grade 10

A leadership training program for high school sophomores that promotes Jewish identity and develops young Jewish leaders to work with Jewish children and teens in our community. SOM culminates with a 4-week summer program to Israel for those who successfully fulfill the program’s requirements.

SCHOOL OF MADRICHIM UPCOMING EVENTS Machane Maccabi – (Date TBD) (For an additional fee) A Shabbaton weekend retreat for 9th and 10th grade Pre-SOM and SOM participants. The purpose of this trip is to concentrate on introducing the concept of what it means to be a part of a Jewish youth movement and the benefits they will reap in the future. We close the Machane by providing a clear concept of what it truly means to be part of Maccabi Tzair.

SOM Israel Summer Trip 2021 This trip represents the culmination of the School of Madrichim 10th grade program. During this 4-week trip, participants get to experience and explore their Jewish homeland. Activities include visiting ancient sites and unusual museums and participating in Gadna to understand what it means to be an IDF soldier. The trip concludes with a one-week intensive Madrichim leadership training seminar. Upon their return from this once-in-a-lifetime experience, participants have a unique perspective on community volunteering.

Fundraising Events Fundraising is a key component of Hebraica and Maccabi Tzair because it allows us to further the education of the Madrichim and the Hanaga. The funds raised ensure assistance is available so that no one is excluded from the continental MT CLAM seminars– a major cornerstone of their formation as community leaders, the SOM Israel trip, Pre-SOM Costa Rica trip, and many annual machanot.

Challah Bake (Date TBD) This fundraising activity is open to the entire Jewish community and organized by Maccabi Tzair Miami volunteers.

Purim (February 25, 2021) The Purim festival is a fundraiser for the Israel Trip, with all MARJCC departments coming together as one for this community event, and the Pre-School of Madrichim and the School of Madrichim generating funds for their summer trips!

SOM Cup (TBD 2021) This weekend-long sports tournament, featuring soccer, basketball, and volleyball is open to our community's high school students. This event is critical to SOM participants, who are in charge of planning the event with the supervision of the madrichim and staff. It gives the SOM participants a sense of teamwork and commitment.

Zumba with SOM (TBD 2021) This event is organized by our SOM participants and brings our community together to enjoy a fun and dynamic Zumba class.

Should the MARJCC close and Zoom activities be held in place of regular activities, the following credit(s) will be applied to your account: - 50% of the amount paid for the program for the specific period.

bamachol Bamachol, which in Hebrew means “in the dance,” brings the Israeli concept of dance academy to our Michael-Ann Russell JCC. The combination of Israeli Dance, Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, and Hip-Hop offers a total experience in the diversity of dance styles and enables children to grow physically, socially, artistically and creatively. The Bamachol Dance Program promotes skill development, friendship, mutual respect, and Jewish culture under the supervision of highly-qualified and talented staff.

The program is divided by age group and class level, providing each child with a path of advancement, based on need and talent.

Our Bamachol Dance Program is a performance-oriented program that allows each child to “learn dance while dancing.” Each child is a unique part of a choreography that provides notions of space orientation, a sense of belonging to a group, and the responsibility of having a place in the dance, which promotes artistic growth.

FLAMENCO I Powered by Baila Flamenco | Grades PK4–11/Adults Directed by Edwin Suarez & Esther Pardo, Baila Flamenco, a nationally awarded Flamenco Dance Academy, brings to South Florida Flamenco culture, art and movement.

Students will learn to dance Flamenco with a great methodology that includes footwork, corporal technique, castanets and choreography. Baila Flamenco joins MARJCC Bamachol to expand the diversity of dance styles by introducing this passionate and intricate Spanish dance.

ISRAELI DANCE-RIKUDIM | Grades PK-3–Adults Members Only Annual Session: August 31, 2020 to June 4, 2021 Our Israeli Dance (Rikudim) program is well known throughout the South Florida community. The goal of Rikudim is to learn and maintain our Jewish Culture and Tradition. Our children learn Rikudim—circle and line dances—as well as choreographies throughout the year. RULES & REGULATIONS COMMITMENT AND ATTENDANCE The study of Performing Arts requires a commitment and a love for the respective art. In most of our classes, students are required to make a full-year commitment, as the program is progressive and depends on weekly development and assessment. Our attendance requirements are as follows, with exceptions made only for valid medical reasons: Semester Classes: More than two missed classes, and the student may be asked not to be in a portion of or an entire choreography in future performances.

Positions will be directly affected by attendance.

Annual Classes: If more than four classes missed, student may be asked not to be in a portion of or an entire choreography in future performances.

BEHAVIOR AND DRESS CODE: We expect all students to treat their classmates and instructors with respect, to arrive on time for all classes, and wear clothing appropriate for the course of study.

Any student deemed by the instructor to be behaving in a manner that is disruptive to the class will be dismissed from the class, and parents will be scheduled to attend a meeting with the Dance Director. A student who will be dismissed from the class more than twice will be asked to leave the program with no refund for fees.

GENERAL: No jewelry, gum or snacks permitted in any class.

Dance students must attend classes with their hair in a ponytail or bun.

Participants understand that classes may be photographed/videotaped, and the Bamachol Dance Program reserves the right to use photos/ videos for program publicity.

COVID-19 POLICY: Should it be necessary to cancel a program before it begins, MARJCC will issue a credit to your account.

Should a change occur in local, county, state, or federal regulation relative to COVID-19 that prevents MARJCC from providing services, MARJCC will issue a credit to your account.

Should it be necessary to cancel or suspend a program already in progress for more than one week, MARJCC will issue a credit for the unused portion to your account.

Zoom Classes will be held in lieu of regular classes if dictated by extenuating circunstances.

In the event Zoom classes are provided, there will be a credit of 50% of the amount paid for the class for the time that Zoom classes were taught. Programs that require tryouts are NON-REFUNDABLE. Program fees due to absences, inclement weather, or disciplinary action are NON-REFUNDABLE. MARJCC membership is NON-REFUNDABLE.

The MARJCC's Music Academy brings the love of music to all ages and skill levels, providing group instructional and private lessons, including piano, singing, guitar, drums, and DJ. Yiddish Far Alemen ‫יידיש פאר אלעמען‬ These classes are led by renowned performer and music teacher, Alejandra Czarny, who has been managing singing groups that perform Yiddish songs for more than 25 years.

Entering the Yiddish (Ashkenaz) world through song allows us to recall memories, emotions, and special individuals from the past. Reviving this amazing language provides a way of revisiting a culture that was devastated during the Holocaust.

Yiddish songs are an excellent tool to bring back pieces of history—personal stories and beautiful words and sounds.

Yiddish songs include Chasidic, lullabies, protest, American, tangos, holidays, and more.

THEATER PROGRAM – RULES & REGULATIONS COMMITMENT & ATTENDANCE The study of Performing Arts requires a commitment and a love for the respective art. Our students are required to make a full session commitment, as the program is progressive and depends on weekly development and assessment. Therefore, we expect 100% attendance, with the exception of valid medical reasons.

BEHAVIOR AND DRESS CODE All students are expected to treat their classmates and instructors with the utmost respect, show up on-time for all classes, and wear clothing appropriate for the course of study. Any behavior deemed by the instructor to be destructive to the class will be dismissed from the class, and parents will be called for a meeting with the Theatre Director.

GENERAL No jewelry, gum or snacks permitted in any class.

Participants understand that classes may be photographed/videotaped and the Performing Arts Program reserves the right to use photos and videos for program promotion.

Art Exploration | Grades Pre-K–5 Art Exploration courses are an exciting journey through art history while exploring various techniques and styles, including drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking/silkscreen, and digital art. Students learn different ways to express their creativity through hands-on experience.

VISUAL ARTS

Fall Session: August 31, 2020 to January 31, 2021

Drawing and Painting | Grades Pre-K–5/Adults Students learn different techniques and media, including pencil/charcoal, acrylics, oils, and mixed media. Build fundamental drawing and painting skills, including shading, controlling tones, color values, and composition. Classes are individualized for each student.

Ceramics | Grades Pre-K–5/Adults This course introduces students to hand-building with clay using pinch, coil, and slab techniques. Emphasis will be placed on the design elements; line, shape, texture, and color. Various glaze and decoration techniques for finishing work will be explored. Additionally, students will learn about traditional and historical ceramic arts processes.

Sculpture | Grades Pre-K–5/Adults This course introduces students to basic tools and sculpting materials, design and mold-making processes, and safety practices for creating sculptural works. In addition to creating works, students learn how to present their work through class critiques and visits to local exhibitions, including foundries.

Ceramic Wheel | Adults Students learn the fundamental techniques of both hand-built and wheel-thrown pottery. Learn about the ceramic process, beginning with pinching, coiling and slab construction to wedging and centering clay on the potter’s wheel, throwing basic cylinders for vases, cups and bowls and trimming, making attachments, glazing, and firing.

Mixed Media Paint | Adults This course strives to create a place where students may work in a creative and communal but challenging environment.

The class promotes an “anything goes” approach regarding both the technical process of art-making and subject matter. Students may bring their ideas and artistic interpretations, or the instructor may suggest different media and ideas.

Video Editing | Level 1| Adults Students learn basic video production and editing techniques, including proper camera framing, creating a shot sequence, video editing in adobe premiere, and special effects in adobe after effects. Discuss creating news packages and the importance of audio, storyboarding, and scriptwriting. Students must provide an 8 gb flash drive.

Graphic Design | Adults This course provides hands-on experience in the basic, intermediate, and advanced Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and image editing, drawing, and graphic animation. These powerful tools have become a mainstay with graphics designers, professional photographers and hobbyists to create, edit, and manipulate images for professional and personal use.

Water Polo | Ages 10–15 Water Polo is a competitive team sport played in the water between two teams. The game consists of four quarters in which the two teams attempt to score goals by throwing the ball into the opposing team’s goal. SAG COMPETITIVE TEAMS Principally geared toward athletes who have been involved in the sport and display the skills necessary to participate in the team experience.

There are ten competitive levels to the team program: • Levels 1–5 Levels 1–5 are based on required skills for each event and level. The routines are choreographed by USA Gymnastics and every level does the same routine incorporating required skills in the USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic compulsory program.

Evaluations are judged at competitions based on execution of the routines.

• Levels 6–10 A gymnast who participates at these optional levels is introduced into a more serious competition regimen. Athletes must demonstrate a high level of commitment, skill, and discipline to compete at these optional levels. Each gymnast has a choreographed routine for each event based on the athlete’s ability and specific level.

• Xcel This is an alternative USA Gymnastics program offering individual flexibility to coaches and gymnasts with no set routines.

Coaches may choose which skills will be used in the routines which are designed and choreographed to the individual athlete’s ability based on specific program requirements.

MMA Sensei J is a 4th-degree black belt who, with strength and determination, has achieved certiďŹ cations and is considered a master mixed martial arts instructor. Sensei J has overwhelmingly mastered eight forms of martial arts that require strength, agility, speed, resistance, and technique. Individual training focuses on the goals and objectives players want to accomplish within a specific time frame. Training in soccer, strength and conditioning, and speed and agility are provided. Extreme International Tennis Academy Extreme International Academy Directors: Freddy Azucey and Carlos Maehama Extreme Tennis is a year-round Junior ITF/ATP/WTA Elite Program. Extreme Tennis is a hardcore customized training program created by professionals for tournament players wanting to raise the level of their game. The program consists of on- and off-court coaching, athletic training, and mental toughness customized to each player’s needs.
